RP Ideas
 

Well, to resolve our RP issues, I've decided to put this thread up so that we can post all our ideas and then vote on which one to do. After we do the most popular RP, we will then have another poll minus the last RP we did, and the cycle will continue.

Rules:

1. Do not repost the same RP in this thread twice
2. One RP idea per post. That way we can easily sort the RPs out more.
3. Please no spam. Also, just ideas here. The RPs will be voted in another thread.
4. Once an RP has won, then please post "DONE" near the title of your RP
5. The same person can post multiple ideas as long as they're not the same
6. State the rules of the RP in your post. Don't be vague about them!
7. Plots should be semi vague and not describing specific acts within the plot, just what the cause is.
8. If you want to use an RP plot you already used in past, but it ended up turning out badly, or it went on hiatus too long, you can still post the idea here.
9. Everyone here has a week to submit ideas. After that, the polling will start, and after another week, the game will be decided. As soon as all the games are over, we will do another Idea thread so that the cycle can begin anew.

I also think it should be a rule that plots should be semi vague and not describing specific acts within the plot, just what the cause is.

Gauntlet
Title: Gauntlet

World: 2012

Season: 2-4

Rating: M-R for blood, gore, violence, torture, and possible death.

Synopsis: People are being kidnapped all over New York (mainly OCs). You are among these unfortunate victims. As you wake up, you find yourself waking up in a room, tied to a contraption. You then hear a voice, telling you who you are, why you are here, and how long you have left to live until the trap you’re in kills you. In these tests of skill, intelligence and endurance, will you be among the ones that survive and go free, or will you die and be forgotten to time like the many others?

Rules:
1. This is mainly for OCs, but if you want to be a TMNT character, then you may join as one if you wish.
2. You can have your character die if you want.
3. No god-modding
4. Shipping is allowed as long as you don’t harass another character you’re trying to ship.

I have a idea kinda based on once upon a time where everyone gets one character from any old story could be legends could be myths but that character is all yours the idea is to combined story's to give each character more then one roll and it would have more then one world so theirs always something to do

Title: Too Far
Series: What if?
“Sometimes it only takes the removal of one stone to cause a mountain to crumble…”
In “Target: April O’Neil,” the only thing that saved April in time for the rest of the turtles to save her was Chrome Dome’s subroutines thanks to Karai’s little comment needing to test the robot on April. Suppose she didn’t… Suppose she kept her mouth shut, the Kraang didn’t install the subroutine, and Chrome Dome… What would have life been like for the turtles had Karai’s plan gone through…? Just what would these actions set in motion with April’s death at that point?
I came up with this RP noticing that had certain things not happened or had something gone wrong, that those events would have a dramatic impact on the series. I listed some of the characters as “possible” due to how many they are and I’m not sure how they’d contribute the main plot.

RP: Together Finally
Premise: Instead of Karai going to assassinate Shredder and ending up mutated, the others stop her, and she’s still in the Hamato clan. Shredder still tries to get her back no matter what.

4. Shipping is allowed as long as you don’t harass another character you’re trying to ship.

Title: Back to the Egg (crappy title I know. I'll try think of a better one soon.)

World: 1987 Toon.

Synopsis: One of the turtles gets hit by an age reversal ray, which makes them age backwards.

Rules:

• No profanity. (this is the 87 cartoon)
• Don't control any character that isn't yours.
• Don't be OP aka Let's try to avoid someone quickly defeating the bad guy and automatically curing the turtle of his age reversal. Not that i think it'll happen here, but I need to be sure.
• No shipping. (whether it be Canon/OC, OC/OC, or Canon/Canon. Just so not to distract from the story.)
• 1-2 Characters per person, OC count will NOT be higher than the Canon count.
  

Mysterious Cruise Park
TMNT Mystery Cruise.
Okay, basically everyone receives a mysterious letter, stating:
"Dear Sir or Madame,
If you are receiving this letter, then congrats! You are one of the lucky few who has been chosen to preview T.C.R.I.'s latest facility, Mysterious Cruise Park. As you should know, MCP is T.C.R.I.'s attempt to profit in the family entertainment business. Now you have the opportunity to try T.C.R.I.'s latest attraction for free. This 7 day island cruise with a stop at Burnow Island will allow you to enjoy the comfort of a relaxing beach cruise with the thrill of an amusment park. T.C.R.I. representative, Ms. Pandora Paradox will be there to act as your tour guide and show you the rides, the casino, the zoo, and the aquarium. If you're feeling hesitant, did we mention there is a prize valued at over $2000 US for one lucky shipmate? Don't be shy, come aboard! The ticket is enclosed! Here's an idea of possible usage:

Dare to Dream? (Name is after a storyline series I came up with)

Setting: Between the dream world involving nightmares/regular dreams and reality

Plot: The world has once been a peaceful slumber, living life contently without any care through creativity. What if one day though the real world fell into an eternal slumber, leaving ourselves in a fantasy world where we can die ala Freddy Kruger? Whether it be finding a way to escape reality or save everyone from eternal sleep, it's up to you to either survive, have fun, or suffer curses.

All franchises welcome!

Rules:

1. You MUST be creative and detailed in your posts
2. All characters ranging from TMNT, OCs, and other franchises are welcome
3. The obvious one character per user rule
4. Let the imagination run free in the story. ;)

One more thing, how many ideas are needed before the voting can begin?

Title: Not The One We Used to Know.

Series: 2k12

Rating: PG-13

Genre: Horror, Hurt/Comfort, Drama

Synopsis: One of the turtles is possessed by a malevolent being, causing him to slowly turn against everyone.

(I've done something like this before, in an old thread made by Luigiperps, which consisted of 3 role-plays. Mikey was the one possesed. It ended too quickly, I thought and I would've like more to have happened. More, as in the turtle actually hurting one of his brothers to create the whole drama aspect. And to just have this go for a decent length, but of course not way over 1,000 posts.)

Rules:

• No God-modding/Power-Playing.
• No extra/outside side plots that will distract from the game. (Also everything will be occurring in the sewers, if your character leaves the sewers, we don't need to know what they're doing while they're gone. Have them just explain a summary of what happened when they return. Surprise us, i guess is what im saying. This may be a good idea for anyone, who may be absent for a while.)
• OCs may (preferably should) know the tmnt in this, but there won't be any shipping here. (Because it distracts from the RP. I admit, guilty of this. Also I would like to avoid any jealousy battles, since more than one member may want a certain character as "their roleplay partner".)
• 1-2 characters per person.
• No $#!+ posting. (Y'all should know what I mean.)

"Survival of the Fittest" (PG13) (Mirage/IDW)

One generation ago, the Utroms visited Earth with peaceful intentions... but the humans proved unworthy of their benevolent visitors. First Contact was a disaster, and New York City has been reduced to the front line in a global post-apocalyptic war between the Earth Protection Force and the Utrom/Triceraton Alliance. Earth is lost; what's left of humanity is a dying memory... and we mutants just want to stay out of the way and survive.

But we're not going to be given that option.

Rules:

• All In-Universe Original Characters, Mutant, Human (or Utrom posing as one of the two)...
• You can take an underutilized character from the toyline (like Scale Tail, Halfcourt, etc) if they never appeared in a show. Make them your own.
• Take it seriously, no crap or wasting people's time.
• Write like a professional... no typos, no bad grammar, no bad spelling (within reason).
• Make your post matter; no one-sentence posts. If you're stuck, wait for someone else to advance the story or PM somebody to get ideas going.
• Established canon characters are off the books. They're gone, baby. (Including but not limited to: Leo, Raph, Don, Mike, Splinter, Bebop, Rocksteady, Leatherhead, Old Hob, Shredder, April, Casey, etc).
• No close ties to those same canon characters. No daughters of Raphael, or best friends of Casey, or granddaughters of Oroku Saki, etc.
• No turtles (snapping or normal), rats, warthogs, rhinos, foxes, or other major preexisting animal mutants. More minor animals such as frogs, dogs, et al should be discussed beforehand to ensure they are not too close to a preexisting character. Camians acceptable.

In Hiding

All mutants are forced into hiding by the Earth protection force, having to salvage what they can, constantly on the move. Can they make things better, or will they all die?
(This is actually inspired by an RP I had done with some friends for another fandom. Loved it, but sadly, we never got further than our OCs getting shot at and changing location, with hardly any plot, even after 16+ pages.:P)

Universe: none specific.

Rules:

• One character per person, and has to be a cannon character. Sorry, it's for the best. (There is one exception though: if you want another character there for a bit, okay, just as long as they don't stay through the whole thing).

• Gore and is allowed, just don't go crazy with it.

• Write nicely. ^_^

• No godmodding.

• Be nice to one another.

Genderbender RP

Exactly what it says on the tin: Everyone wakes up the opposite gender. Hilarity ensues. And I posted it just for laughs since having an RP like that would be pretty hilarious.

Going to try one!

While the turtles are fighting the foot clan and Shredder down in the sewers, the Kraang manage to abduct all the people on the surface of New York. The turtles then have to find how to get all the humans back.

With this, any OC or non-foot/turtle characters could just have somehow evaded abduction. And it's up to Shredder if they're going to help or not, or try to end Splinter.

I figure this would be the nick verse, but we could use any and just sub out the kraang for someone else

The plot: Don accidently well trying to make a way to spy on the krangs dimension makes a portal that unleashes the fairy filled land of never land and a young boy in green at first all seems fine till children start to disapare app over New York

You can use any character from ether the turtles series or the Peter Pan series that neverland comes from and OC's are allowed (please limit of one or two characters)

(The lost boys are between 5-10 with pan being 12)
(The roars are a all teen group between 13-18 with their leader being Rufuo at 19)

You can also say if you want a genderbent one so I won't waist space by adding the other one

Title: TMNT Random House

Rating: E 10+

Description: The TMNT and their pals are now moving into a bigass mansion, where they have all kinds of crazy adventures from dealing with demigods, house parties, creepypasta monster, console wars, and even the Tails Doll. Yeah, basically random stuff.

Rules:

#1 Don't be rude personally to other players
#2 No godmodding
#3 You can be random as long as it's funny and follows the rules
#4 Please no text speak. It's rather frustrating to understand.
#5 No killing others without said others' permission.
#6 Anyone who wants to join can at any time.
#7 You can either live in the mansion with the turtles, or in a place of your own.

Wow, a lot of these are great idea!

While it's highly unlikely that we'll be able to start a RP here again, Imma add an idea at least. Not cause the forum is telling me to come reply to something or anything. XD

Idea One: I've really gotten into the idea of a school AU. Especially after being in one for a while on: http://shellshocked-rpg.proboards.com/ We could go the high school route, or even take it up a notch and have the turtles and other characters (OCs obviously included too) be in a large university/college.

General rules being the typical: Have decent grammar, stay in character, use (OOC: *insert message*) to ask questions, and such...

School rules will be left to whoever would wanna be the principle/headmaster/whatever, but I got a few suggestions: Don't kill other students, no running in the halls, no harassment, and if we go the college route no boys in the girls dorm and vice versa.

Open to suggestions too!

Well, after my long absence here on the 'drome, I feel a new RP might be a good welcome back.

Obviously the past few RP's here have been less than successful, despite the efforts made to really solidify them.

I propose we just go back to what worked (atleast from my time here for the past few years). And by that, I mean low-grade rules. (Personally, my ideal RP would be without OC's, full-paragraph format, slow to medium pace, with a given, canon-esque plot that everyone sticks to with their 1-2 characters. However, as we all have seen, everyone's 'ideal' is vastly different from one another's. )

So for this RP, I'd like to rules similar to Lethal's old "Lethal Lullaby Presentation" rules, as that is the longest RP I've been a part of, spanning over a year.

So:
No godmodding your characters
Dont kill someone else's character
Be reasonable about your response time

OC's included
No limit on number of characters
Post how you like

Plot I think should be kept simple. Something about Shredder planning to attack the turtles, maybe.

If anyone would like to weigh in on this, please feel free to. Will try to create the RP in the next few days to gage some interest

How about Shredder purposely let's out a virus/bug/illness that's transmitted by entering the body through a bite, and/or an open flesh wound. Side effects in the following order would include: Hallucinations,* random spasms/twitching, fatigue, unusual cravings (Starts off with weird combinations of food, then gradually becomes a flesh craving.), and eventually loss of basic human emotions. After getting a decent amount of citizens infected, Shredder could claim to the rest of the city that he'll give them a 'cure.' (He doesn't really have one, so later when they realize Donnie may have to rush to make one.) On one condition: They have to either kill, or bring to him the turtles and probably their friends too. It sets the whole city in a mode of panic with people being infected, and more keeping a careful watch out for the turtles and their friends. To add more tragedy/drama we could say that some of the people, which the turtles are friends with are infected as well. Those characters would depend on what series we do this in.

I know you said simple, but how's that, E? Sorry if it's a mess. ^^;

Plot sounds fine! By simple I just meant in New York, not creating new villain organizations, with an easy plot for everyone to kind of play around with.

Ahh gotcha. ^-^ BTW i'm always open to suggestions or changes to plots. Hopefully we can start Roleplaying here again.

Mutagen bath
 

I have an idea called mutagen bath. While not a fan of original characters in these games, this can be an exception for people who like it.

Title: Mutagen bath
TMNT version: 1987-1996 cartoon.
Storyline: Shredder sneaks into the swimming hall pouring mutagen into the pools. When people go swimming they end up mutated.

Shredder takes them to the Technodrome where he and Krang tell them that if they want to turn human again, they must first destroy the turtles and Splinter. (another idea can be that Krang zaps them with a brainwashing ray to make them follow his instruction).

This can also be played in the 2012 cartoon with following storylines:
1. The Kraang pour mutagen into the swimming hall pools to mutate people.
2. Shredder steals mutagen from the Kraang, pours it into the swimming hall pools and mutates people telling them they must first destroy the turtles and Splinter to become normal. (or Shredder uses a brainwashing ray).

A version set in the 2003 cartoon would probably also work with something similair involving Agent Bishop or maybe Chrell and the Foot genetics laboratory.

Considering the last RP has been inactive for almost a month, the RPs are probably gonna stay dead, aren't they?

At least until we somehow get more active players. I wish I knew what happened to half of them. Hopefully they're doing okay.

Sadly, almost everyone is busy with his or her social life on Facebook now.

Concentration

2012 centric

The city learns of the Turtles and mutants in general. This divides the city into three mindsets. People who see all mutants as a threat and feels they should be round up and dealt with somewhere. Others who argue that the mutants were people once (at least some of them) and there is no proof they are an actual threat and perhaps there could be a way to return them to human. And then there are people who make a profit with capturing mutants and selling them to people who will experiment on them, torture them, treat them like animals.

As said, the RPG's seem to have died.

IDK, maybe I can help out. I kinda stopped though because I always felt like my responses were either annoying others or OOC. But I still love to RP (it's been so long since I've RPed with anyone, I miss it), so IDK. I'd probably mostly respond at night though. Plus yeah, the recurring problem of RPs tending to just stop.

Universe: I usually like to keep the universe ambiguous, like we're creating our own universe. But, if I have to, I guess 2012?
Characters: Let's start out with Canon, but if you want to work OCs into the story at some point, sure. Or have them from the beginning. Dunno, I suck with making rules. P:

Description: Shredder asks Baxter Stockman to create a robot. Robots. They are small, and they can reconstruct anything that runs off of electricity. When these small bots make their way into the lair they cause enough mayhem in the living room alone. Can our heroes keep these creatures from going further into the city, or is New York doomed?

It's mainly because key players either won't respond, or the RP's keep dying before they get a chance to get off the ground properly. I had rebooted several of my RPs twice, and they died within months. It sucked.... :tsad:

RIP Technodrome RP Section ????-2017

I'd be interested in this section, especially if its stuff about the Original Cartoon.

If anyone is interested, I have an idea, however, you will have to watched the 2nd Nick/FW crossover to understand whats going on so I'll put it in spoilers.

Great "Fred Wolf Leonardo", but I don't like the red sky making people angry. It was hate-campaigns from Dregg, and Burne's propaganda after Shredder blowing up Channel 6 who changed that.

I also think we shall play in another way. Instead of users controlling characters, everyone write their turn of the story (with as many words and sentences he or she wants). Fan characters should not appear (except "man or woman on the street" needed to support the storyline). That's how many of our earlier RPG's at this website were.
