Lights on or off?

So it recently came to my attention that many people like to play games with their room lights turned off. This is a bit surprising to me, since I recall those health warning booklets that come with games advising you to play games in a well lit room.

So, I'm guessing for some people lights out makes the experience seem more cinematic?

I play with lights on, always. I don't want to tire my vision too quickly.

On, I don't like to do much of anything in the dark, except sleep.

I did put some dark hours into BOTW though, 'cause I was more immersed than I ever had been before & wanted to take it a step further.

Lights on, I think people who do it in the dark are weird

I like my light. It makes it easier for me to see where I'm walking after I put the game on pause. Also, I don't enjoy stumbling over my cat in the dark.

The same also applies for watching movies.

I prefer with the lights on but I know most women prefer with the lights off, I think it's because they are self conscious.

On. I don't wanna ruin my eyes.

This is a thread about video games, chief.

Off, though I can go either way really. Like Powder said though, I also play BOTW with the lights off since it's so easy to get immersed :)

I think he was joking.

Really? Having my lights on doesn't make me feel less immersed in the video games I play or movies I watch.

Off whenever possible.

Either way, doesn't matter when I'm in VR :P
