Rest in Peace Bill Wolf

Bill Wolf, son of Fred Wolf and animation director on most of the FW series episodes died yesterday.

He also wrote the scripts to the series which included Burne's Blues and Michelangelo's Birthday. For all the mistakes he may have made with the quality control of the episodes he put in a lot of work into the series and was integral to the show getting produced. Rest in peace Bill.

The three innovators of TMNT 1987 died within two weeks of each other?:o Wow, I am saddened and happy to see Toys That Made Us come out when it did.

Michelle Ivey just notified me and I've re-edited the post to include a link to offer condolences and so you know I'm not making things up. :)

Dude, WTF. All these TMNT losses are really awful to hear. RIP to another contributor to our childhoods...

CyberCubed 03-25-2020 10:40 AM

I guess no relation to the virus. I guess Susan Blu the voice director is still around right?

Not 100% sure but not that I'm aware of. Bill had cancer and joint issues a while back and recently had a stroke. I guess he just got worse but according to Michelle as of last week he was still ringing up fans to wish them happy birthday even though he was unwell.

Thank you so much Bill & to your dad for all the work you did making one of the favorite creations of my childhood, wouldn't've had as good a life I've had if it hadn't been for you. Enjoy heaven Bill, & my condolences to Fred & the rest of the Wolf family.

IndigoErth 03-25-2020 11:49 AM

Okay, too many... :( RIP Bill Wolf.

Papenbrook 03-25-2020 12:18 PM

That is such a heavy loss. He was such a nice man, too.

My thoughts are with his loved ones. May he rest peacefully.

neatoman 03-25-2020 12:57 PM

Is his father still alive?

CyberCubed 03-25-2020 12:59 PM

When one of the core voice actors die that will really hit the hardest. Splinter’s VA is probably going to go first given how old he is, can’t believe he’s still alive.

Yeah it will be a sad day when Peter Renaday passes away. I still like to think he has many years left however. :)

Best advice, never start counting down, just keep living in the present.

So sad for this happen just weeks after David Wise's passing. R.I.P. Mr. Wolf. :(

It must suck to be that old and knowing you just outlived your son...

Yeah to be honest it's a little much emotionally.

Bill talks a bit here about how the show was produced:

It's been a terrible year so far in many ways. So sad to hear of this news with all of the TMNT losses we've had as well as the pandemic going on as well. I'm very sad to hear of Bill Wolf's passing. The original cartoon of TMNT is one of, if not my most, cherished childhood things/memories of my life. It has just been a bad few weeks for TMNT fans lately. My condolences go out to Fred Wolf and his family. :tcry:

Can't be believe he voiced Kingpin in Spider-Man VS The Kingpin for the SEGA CD. He didn't even change the voice, so it's weird hearing Master Splinter gleefully dip Spider-Man and Mary Jane in acid.
