Don't i know it. The anime fan dub reeked havoc on my vocal chords.

If I had to pick favorites, Leo and Shredder would be mine, too.

Why do you think I recruited them for another project?

Yeah, I'll get on that soon...promise.

Vivi 09-08-2012 05:37 AM

That was wicked, well done everyone :tthumbsu:

Are you planning on doing the next episode?

Donnie 09-08-2012 05:10 PM

Excellent job, everyone! :) I'm so glad this is finally done.

Same here! Splinter's parts too...never realized how text heavy that was.

Yeah. I did make it clear early on we were using the PBBZ, and I PMed at least Winters and Rutger with the PBBZ corrections for their character, because I believe they didn't have the comic at the ready.

Next time, it probably would be more beneficial to have the entire script just typed out.

It depends. I think everyone is willing for the most part, granted we have smoother sailing and a more organized approach.

Do you have the soundtrack available for download yet?

Still need to get both up as downloads.

Cool.

I hope nobody minds that I sent this to Peter Laird's e-mail. He seemed interested in it when I first told him of the project at its onset.

Jester 09-08-2012 08:37 PM

I was wondering who would send it to him....go ahead. Though there is a glitch in the credits...Project Coordinator is just kinda there at the end.

Yes I did notice that as well.

Dammit.

*edit - I probably won't correct this because you had already sent this off to PL. If I correct it I will have to reupload, thus creating a new link, and if he links to this on his blog I don't want it to be down because a newer version was uploaded.

Makes sense. Although, I'm not sure how often (if ever) he checks his email. I could always send him a new link.

Or I could just put a stupid youtube annotation on top of it.

I received a reply from PL. It was a nice critique. I won't make it public, but let me know if you want it forwarded to you.

Jester 09-13-2012 01:48 PM

Why not? Or at least PM the cast, please.

It's a critique, I don't want anybody to be offended by anything PL said, plus as it was a private e-mail conversation I don't think it's fair for me to post it publicly. I'll PM the cast of course, but please don't share it.

I can sum up the points for those interested. He was humbled by our work and thought the cast did a great job with the voices. He said they were very appropriate for the characters.

Most of his e-mail, however, was critiques about the lack of motion in the comic. I'm not sure where he got that we were pitching this as a motion comic, I must have called it that when I first told him about the project a little after we started production, before I saw the final product. It's more appropriately a "voice comic", but he was concerned that I had called it that yet there wasn't any real motion. He also mentioned critiques about the cutting off of certain text bubbles (I only noticed one while re-watching), and the general deviation from the script. I explained to him in my reply that we were using the PBBZ text, but not everybody got the memo. He also thought it needed more sound effects.

He closed with this: "I do appreciate the work that went into this, and I commend those who participated."

Basically he said I did a ****** job editing it all together. Which is fine, it's not like I'm Sally Menke (R.I.P). Other than saying he thought the voices were good and commending us it was more or less a negative review. I say post it. It's mainly on me for the negative review. It's not like I pushed for cleaner cuts of the panels or better scans, (hell I could have corrected most that myself), or the correct lines to be recorded. PL isn't known for being a nice guy when it comes to voicing his opinion of a project, in some cases he can be downright bitter. But that's the thing, this was his baby, he has every right to scrutinize the project to a T. And I applaud him for not taking the everybody gets a trophy route and not saying what he really means. Would I be lying if I said I didn't get a punch in the gut when I read it, yep, but I am a big boy and can handle some negative feedback. It's what will make my next project (if there is one) even better.

So again, I say post it. I would but since it was sent to you I feel that it is ultimately up to you to post.

And ya know I am a little surprised he didn't say anything about the original music added to the project... Maybe he thought they were worst part!

Heheh, I dreaded when Donnie said he was gonna show this to Peter.

But it is kinda cool to at least get such a detailed review from (one 1/2 of) The Man himself!

Jester 09-13-2012 11:31 PM

Kinda comes off as a jerk...

Donnie 09-14-2012 08:00 PM

For those interested, I've consulted with PL and he doesn't mind us sharing what he said. So if any of those involved would like to do so, you can. Thanks for not posting it before hand, I appreciate it! :)
