I'm really curious what the plan is for the story the second time around... and who this "femme fatale" I read about them casting for a few months back

Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to play Mysterio. I thought this rumor was bogus since it originated from The Sun but one of the Hollywood trades is reporting it now too.

Tombstone to me is like a top lieutenant in the underworld under any of Kingpin, Silvermane or Hammerhead. I suppose he could have a small role if the character appears, but representing one of the other three. That is just me.

I want to see Scorpion or Mysterio in a Spider-Man film, in costume and not just a throw away character. It would be great if Mysterio will be the lead villain. I assumed Chameleon since the film is said to have an international setting.

This report about Gyllenhaal joining the film says that Michael Keaton will be returning as the Vulture.

Wow, more Michael Keaton as the Vulture and now possibly Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio? Far out, man. I'd always hoped to get Mysterio in a live-action film

Uuuuh are you doing a bit? Because that site seems sketchy and it's not being reported anywhere else. All I see is news on him wrapping Daredevil Season 3.

Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 Plot Leak Reveals Major Avengers 4 Death?

Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 Plot Leak Reveals Major Avengers 4 Death?

Quote:

Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is expected to begin production in a few months and some new plot leaks have hit the web. There's a lot of question as to how the Marvel Cinematic Universe will choose to handle the promotion of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 since it comes out so close to Avengers 4. While they aren't currently worried about that aspect, this new leak sheds some interesting light on the possible storylines for both films. It's important to note that these are far from official and should just be treated as entertainment. That being said, there could be potential spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Avengers 4 ahead, so read at your own risk.
Spoiler:

This new Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 plot leak comes from a Reddit source who is considered "trustworthy" after leaking Infinity War details before the movie hit theaters. Again, we'll take these with a grain of salt. Obviously, Peter Parker is back from wherever he went in Infinity War and survives the events of Avengers 4. However, according to this new leak, Parker is mourning the death of Tony Stark as the movie begins, which is the opposite of how we last saw the two together.

Tony Stark has been rumored to not make it to Phase 4 of the MCU for over a year now, so this aspect seems legit. Elsewhere, the leak claims that Michael Keaton is back as Adrian Toomes, aka the Vulture along with Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion, for small roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2. Mysterio will reportedly be the main villain, which has also been reported, but there's no mention of Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role.

The leak claims that the Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 story will center on something "groundbreaking" that Tony Stark has created and Mysterio will steal it after being hired by a familiar villain. The new leaked details do not specify who the mysterious boss is, but it says, "he's a major villain from the comic books who will have a prominent role in these movies moving forward." Sony and Marvel are reportedly looking for an A-list actor to take on the role, which is supposed to be a surprise. Again, nothing about this leak has been confirmed by Marvel or Sony, and even if it was, they probably would not even acknowledge it.

Finally, the new Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 leak also claims that the sequel will set up the Sinister Six. The leak says that it is "confirmed," but that could mean anything. As far as seeing the Sinister Six in Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, it's believed that they will be planting the seed in the film, instead of showing up right away. The leak goes on to imply that the villains might not all show up in the third movie of the trlogy either. They're expected to show up at some point down the line in Sony's Marvel Universe. You can read more about the Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 leak over at Reddit.

I can't remember now where I read it earlier today, but it's rumored that the sequel may be titled Spider-Man: Field Trip. I guess we'll see if that turns out to be true.

Sounds pretty plausible to me.

Right? I feel like it's at least partially correct. I do find it funny that it doesn't entirely jibe with the rumors I've heard about Avengers 4, because I wouldn't want to know everything before both of these movies come out, I just want an inkling of what''s to come.

Still sounds better than Sony's Sinister Six they tried to Bum rush

Yeah, that's a major pet peeve of mine. Studios need to understand that you can't rush teams of villains, be it the Sinister Six or the Legion of Doom (here's looking at you, Warner Bros). Because if each villain hasn't been built up and we the audience have no knowledge of the reason for their animosity against the heroes who star in these movies then why should we even give a f#ck?

Original TMNT Cartoon Fan 06-02-2018 05:44 AM

Why don't the production companies start a live-action Spiderman television (or Netflix) series instead of just rebooting the film series over and over again? Remember DC Comics and Marvel Comics are bigger businessens than TMNT. Also, we live in a time of television (in practice Netflix) series.

Movies make a lot more money. Also, you'd need a huge CGI budget to do a ton of Spidey's rogues justice, which is money many live-action shows don't have.

Candy Kappa 06-02-2018 05:33 PM

Besides, we already got the perfect Spider-Man LA series.
