Quote:

The Dragon Prince, created by Aaron Ehasz (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Justin Richmond, tells the story of "two human princes who forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands," according to a press release from Netflix.
Enjoy a first look at The Dragon Prince in the poster below:

Ehasz and Richmond, along with executive producer Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), will present a sneak peek and an inside look at San Diego Comic-Con on July 21.
No official release date has been announced.
Netflix has been busy lately. It will reportedly outspend every Hollywood studio this year, creating large amounts of original content, like the recently announced second season of Castlevania coming in October, and Season 2 of Aggretsuko, which will likely debut next year. For more on what's happening, here's a list of everything new to Netflix for July.

Doesn't seem interesting but the Avatar connection is enough for me to wait and watcht he trailer.

PApagreg 07-10-2018 07:25 PM

Artstyle reminds me of Bastion

drgon78 07-10-2018 07:32 PM

Interesting.

I am going to check this out when ever it comes out. As others have said the avatar connection has me interested. My only concern is that the storyline sounds redundant/similar to ATLA.

plastroncafe 07-11-2018 12:16 PM

With that linework, that pedigree, and Giancarlo Volpe involved?
Oh yeah, I'm in. I'm way in.

Splinter the boss 07-11-2018 12:16 PM

Was interested at first because of the ATLA connection, however the premise is similar to it, and I'm no longer into it. That's too bad👏👏👏

Don't like the animation style.

Coola Yagami 07-21-2018 05:20 PM

Seems all the cartoons with actual effort put into them (looking like actual humans rather than just random blobs and shapes) are on Netflix.

Utrommaniac 07-21-2018 06:01 PM

I see they're going with the RWBY art style...which I've found to be a little off-putting, personally. This seems to handle it a little better though.

I like the style, let's see if the story is any good. It's dropping soon though so won't be much of a wait, I like that.

Netflix cartoons have some cool art usually but the writing is where they fail.

PangolinFeets 07-21-2018 07:21 PM

The style looks great, but I wish the animation was smoother. I bet fight scenes will look nice.

PApagreg 07-28-2018 07:00 PM

Animation looks kinda bad and jankey, reminds me of Inyushiki but in a bad way.

looks so bland..

The animation looks cheap but I do love the cg celshaded look. Why are the characters in this fantasy world wearing such boring outfits? What happened to cool stylized designs? I mean, it's a high fantasy show, what the hell are you doing that a high fantasy character designs are boring?

PApagreg 09-01-2018 06:36 PM

I would watch an episode of this but my god is the animation terrible, its like every bad anime CG show rolled into a netflix original.

What outfits did you expect them to wear in a high fantasy setting.

CyberCubed 09-01-2018 06:51 PM

Every time I see these new shows they look like CG clips from PS2 era videogames.

Anything not that plain? I don't understand where you're going with this as you must be familiar. Since it's being promoted as from the head writer of Avatar then there you can have tons of examples of visually appealing outfits. Everything here seems like a Fire Nation army outfit, but it worked there for the fire nation, here everyone is wearing boring outfits like that.
