They look full grown to me. Just extremely simple in design.

CyberCubed 01-30-2016 12:33 AM

Does anyone remember that JLU episode where the characters got turned into kids? It was kid Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern if I recall. It was during the first season of JLU.

These designs really remind me of that episode from JLU where they were turned to children.

Can you at least wait for an animated trailer before judging?

Also, Conroy has voiced a younger Batman before.

I hate cheap art styles.

Give 'em his ****ing underwear back.

I hope this doesn't have the same "animation" that TT Go has, where it looks almost like cheap flash animation you would see on the computer.

In any case I expect these to be gag oriented. Happy friendly cartoons for the kiddies.

After Young Justice was canceled I don't think CN wants any "serious" DC shows anymore. They'll probably just want comedies for kids.

LeotheLateBloomer 01-30-2016 03:01 AM

What was I thinking?:trolleye:

Shred Head 01-30-2016 03:47 AM

The designs look very similar to Spectacular Spider-Man very simplistic designs means it can be cheaper to animate. Its got a lot of good names attached to the project so I'm going to be optimistic. I mean its got to be better then Teen Titans Go or Ultimate Spider-Man. Lets face it the days of TMNT2K3, Batman the Animated series, 90's X-Men, and Legend of Korra are gone this will probably be the best we can get sad to say.

like, enough... enough red belts, and yellow red belts, and action tech lines, and cuffs, and goofy t-shirts, jeans...

The lawsuit is OVER.

Bring it home

Aww was kinda hoping for something more serious...like Young Justice or the first JLA......

but I'll give it a chance, why not :D it would be cool if they showed off some JL members that we don't see alot.

CyberCubed 01-30-2016 11:57 AM

Trust me, it'll be a kids show. I know about these things.

TurtleTitan97 01-30-2016 01:20 PM

Yeah, lets trust the guy who doesn't even work on the show or seen any footage and is just making assumptions just because the art style is different and simple. That makes so much sense.

Besides nothing in that description indicates this show is solely a comedy.

Leo656 01-30-2016 03:51 PM

Yeah, on the one hand it definitely does look WAY more juvenile than I was hoping for.

But, on the other hand, it still COULD be pretty good. It's not at all what I wanted or ever would have asked for, but eh. Like people keep saying about "Brave and the Bold", was it the Batman show I'd ever ask for? No. Is it my favorite one? Not at all. BUT, it was still really good from a different direction.

Still, not at all sold so far, between the art, the runtime, and the description. Looks like one that'll be easy to miss, frankly. We shall see.

M.O.D.O.K. 01-30-2016 06:19 PM

Again, the run time should be a non-issue. Shows like Steven Universe are able to weave long-term storytelling, character development, and worldbuilding in 11 minute episodes just fine.

Not saying that this show WILL or SHOULD do that. But it's not impossible either.

CyberCubed 01-30-2016 07:06 PM

11 minutes in an action cartoon is not a lot of time. You need to have set-up for the plot of the episode, the characters interacting with the villains, the fight scenes, and then the resolution.

All that in 11 minutes goes by pretty damn quickly. Its what makes me think the plots will be really simple so they can get to the action faster.

sdp 01-30-2016 07:18 PM

11 minutes is enough based on the description of the show. This won't be a plot heavy show but we will just get a basic set up and a fight. I think that works there are many iconic battles from the DCU that don't need a big set up. Let's wait for a trailer before we judge.

I just noticed that superman doesn't have his red underwear and it looks terrible. This isn't Chibi art at all either but they definitely look young.

We already have a new Batman show kind of, it's Batman Unlimited, we have 3 movies with more being made and a bunch of clips on the internet. It's for kids but kind of fun at the same time. I was actually hoping this show would have similar designs.

CyberCubed 01-30-2016 07:27 PM

I guess no DC cartoon will ever reach the highs of the DCAU, 2003 Teen Titans, or Young Justice ever again. Brave and the Bold came the closest though.

DC cartoons have been in a rut for years.

Raph's Girl 04-24-2016 07:39 PM

Ok so here's the cast so far:
Mark Hamill is Joker and Swamp Thing
Kevin Conroy is Batman and Plastic Man
Deidrich Bader is Booster Gold
James Woods is Lex Luthor
Joanne Spracklen (who?) is Supergirl
Carl Reiner is The Wizard
Brent Spiner is The Riddler
Tara Strong has also been cast but dunno her role yet. Probably Barbara Gordon/Batgirl

CyberCubed 04-24-2016 07:41 PM

I don't understand why they're using Conroy for this when this looks like a younger skewing kids show. Odd.

TurtleTitan97 04-24-2016 07:47 PM

Yes, because voice actors should be limited to working on shows that are either "serious" or "comedic" depending on their previous work.

Get real.
