TMNT: Danger of the Ooze PS3/360/3DS

Looks like there is a new PS3, 360 and 3DS game coming out called Danger of the Ooze by Activision.

Can't find any info or pictures yet.

Out in October, and yet no media released yet? Somehow, that scares me.

the fixer 08-22-2014 12:39 PM

I have a bad feeling about this...

snake 08-22-2014 01:03 PM

It won't be that bad, right guys?

Right?

RIGHT?

What, the movie one? I heard it had a crafting system and some new villains but that was about it.

raph27 08-22-2014 01:17 PM

Remember the last Activision TMNT game that was released in October and didn't have much press?
I have a really bad feeling about this...plus, this soon? I'm still waiting for the last one to hit $10 for 3DS.

You can find a bunch of Let's Play videos of it on Youtube.

Ninjinister 08-22-2014 01:37 PM

It's retail, so I'm assuming it's not a follow-up to Out of the Shadows. A second cartoon-based game? Something else? I dunno... guess Activision somehow got a license extension. I hope it's not Magic Pockets again, though D:

I personally would not consider it good. Better than the previous game? Yes. Good? Hardly.

chrisdude 08-22-2014 03:41 PM

A third 3DS turtles game?! Sweet.

Considering what consoles it's for, my guess is a second Nickelodeon game. It's not at all uncommon for kids cartoons to get multiple games.

EDIT________
Maybe it's based on the mutagen fallout arc (season?), and it'll have tons of mutants.

And probably feature Mutants not on the Show perhaps?

Donatello19 08-22-2014 03:59 PM

STILL no Wii U version? :(

No Wii either, it seems. I guess that suggest this may be a somewhat more ambitious game graphically speaking than that last game based on the TV show.

TigerClaw 08-22-2014 05:38 PM

Let's not forget the Mobile game that also came out recently, Which was also based on the movie.

I'm willing to bet that this new game will be based on the new Movie and using the new TMNT designs. Even though the Mobile and 3DS game uses the Movie designs, the stories in them has nothing to do with the movie itself.

But if its not and based on the Nick series, Then I can see why its called Danger of the Ooze. It'll be the Turtles fighting a series of Mutants scattered all over NYC, after those canisters were accidentally scattered all over the place.

Powder 08-22-2014 07:15 PM

I remember the days when I used to look forward to new TMNT games, now I dread them. :tsad:

Then all that needs to happen is for Konami to get the TMNT license back.

chrisdude 08-22-2014 07:21 PM

By using PS3, 360 and 3DS, they can reach tons of people while really only making two versions of the game. PS4 and XBox One would cost more money. Wii has hardware limitations and Wii U is just weird. 3DS has limitations, too, compared to PS3 and 360, but at least it's current and infinity people own them.

That's all why I figure it's Nickelodeon-based game.

True, Not everyone has a Xbox One or PS4 yet, Including me. Come this Christmas, a lot of kids will get those consoles for sure.

chrisdude 08-22-2014 07:47 PM

I know I'm gonna buy it and play it, regardless, because I'm a sucker for TMNT and beat 'em ups. But I would rather it be a new thing, like the movie game was, than to be a sequel to the Nick game. But the title fits the last season pretty well...

The same Konami that made a bunch of mediocre to sh*tty TMNT games towards the end.

So tired of this 'Konami will save us all' bullcrap. Get out of the past for a minute or two.

Powder 08-22-2014 09:45 PM

I'd like to see Wayforward do a TMNT 3DS game, personally.

zodiac brave 08-23-2014 12:48 AM

i still wish that rocksteady game wasnt just a bunch of rumors.

Konchadunga 08-23-2014 02:44 AM

I was under the impression that Activision's license only lasted three games.

Electric 08-23-2014 09:05 AM

I don't know if this iOS game counted as one of the 3

The iOS game wasn't published by Activision. It wouldn't matter anyway because if it was they'd have four out right now.

Bry 08-26-2014 02:19 PM

Another Activision game, and potentially based on the new movie?

Hold on, I need to find just the right GIF for this one...

Yeah, that'll do.

The Turtle Terminator 08-27-2014 12:35 AM

Danger of the ooze- Rahzar and Tokka! Maybe its Secret of the ooze

Pro Igrok 08-27-2014 02:07 PM

Upcoming "danger of ooze" will be peace of junk like "out of the shadows" I think.
P.S. The only hope for good and enjoyable tmnt-game is on fan-projects.
So if you want to play it - support fan devs who on your opinion deserve it!:twink:

PizzaPower 08-28-2014 01:28 PM

I think they need a TMNT game on PS4 and Wii U.

Wayforward would probably be the current developer most likely to make a good TMNT game, I agree.

Ninja Tiptup 09-02-2014 06:15 PM

Danger of the Ooze? Sounds like a season two game tie-in.

Nice to see a TMNT game for PS3 though. I'll probably pick it up for that instead of 3DS like last year's game.

Oh how I wish Activision would let WayForward develop a TMNT game.

slingtheory 09-03-2014 03:16 PM

I've got my fingers crossed but since it comes out in a month and there's no realinfoim notexpecting much. Hope its decent and not only directed at kids.

miru 09-03-2014 09:29 PM

Mmm...

Looks to be yet another trashy, run-of-the-mill children's licensed game,no different from the likes of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures or what have you.

A crying shame, the TMNT games could have truly not only copied their ancestors, but improved upon them as well, but instead they choose to go down this route...

My vision of a TMNT game for the new millennium is a game that takes the classics and improves upon them, instead of merely aping them.

* The playable character roster would be expanded beyond just the Turtles. Each character would have unique movesets and statistics. For example, April O' Neil would rely on her psychokinetic abilities to fight, lifting and throwing enemies aside as well as breaking their brains with psychic forces. Metalhead would be the walking arsenal, using his array of cannons and tools to fend off his enemies. Leatherhead would be the slow-yet-strong bruiser of the group, able to access a crocodilian rage to overcome the enemy. Karai? She'd totally have a stance system allowing her to change between woman and serpent. Slash could just curl up and roll through the opposition, or smash them with a club. Casey Jones would pull out all his sporting goods to take on the enemies. Splinter could have the abilities of all four Turtles but overall be much weaker.
* Levels will be multi-layered and contain several alternate paths, potentially allowing players to go through the level much faster than they normally would. Perhaps the game would even have branching storyline paths, allowing the player to choose which levels to go to?
* A variety of enemies, rather than just types of Foot and Mouser.

Ninjinister 09-03-2014 09:44 PM

WayForward did do a TMNT game at one point and it was pretty neat! Or at least I liked it....

According to Activision, TMNT: Danger of the Ooze blends classic 2D fighting and platforming with the 3D art direction of the TV show. Here is how Activision sets up the story.

"The game quickly heats up as Shredder, Tiger Claw, and a new army of mutants threaten the streets of New York, forcing Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo to take action into their own hands."

Activision says the unique thing about TMNT: Danger of the Ooze is its "vast, interconnected, non-linear game world," which will reward players for exploration and "creative thinking." Players will have powers, upgrades, and equipment at their disposal as they move through New York, battling bosses.

TMNT: Danger of the Ooze doesn't lock you into one of the four hero turtles, either. Players can freely swap between them, and each has his own unique play strengths and skills. Overall, Activision says combat is "fast-paced," and will feature martial arts-style attacks with combos, counters, and finishers. But if that's not your style, the game also lets you perform stealth-based attacks.

Candy Kappa 09-04-2014 10:16 AM

Not movie based, I am intrigued.

sluggedup226 09-04-2014 10:23 AM

It looks like WayFoward is developing the game. Where on Earth did Microsoft get this information about the game:
Quote:

The Turtles are up to their shells in trouble in this latest game for Xbox 360 based on their newest movie. Taking on Shredder and his mutant allies, Rahzar and Tokka, the famous green heroes in a half shell must capture and destroy the dangerous ooze to make the world safe again for Turtles, humans, and pizza.
