I'm sure Oliver Stone is already typing away. I'm being very serious.

Let's be honest though, Trump is falling apart.
I mean, he's the leader of a party that can't push its own agenda through Congress when they have a majority in both Houses.

That's...really sad.
That's like Democrat levels of disorganization.

Good on Spicer for getting out. I can't imagine the levels of stress he had and I have a hellishly stressful job. Sara Huckabee will be interesting to watch.

Next up: Sessions.

Trump is exploring his pardon powers too. If he's so squeeky clean, why would he do that? MAGA.

Some day he may learn that politics isn't just like running a business.

Will 22 million Americans really lose their healthcare if Obamacare is replaced?

MsMarvelDuckie 07-26-2017 10:31 AM

We will. If they put in their version it would bankrupt us in under a month. Not kidding. His dialysis treatments ALONE would put us on the street. And thats not counting all his meds. We would be royally f**ked.

There's a replacement?
When in the last ten years did they write that?

Trump Bans LGBTQ people from serving in the Military. Ironically he dodged serving.

Solidifying that Bible Belt Deep South Republican voter base.

They can't use the bathroom in my state, and now they can't serve in the military.

We should be playing "Trump Bingo", because this probably would have been the winning square.

Quick! People are paying attention to how we're messing with HealthCare, distract them with something!

But what...Oh I've got it!
Let's attack a marginalized group that a lot of stupid people already hate for no reason!

If the draft was ever activated it does give everyone an excellent out now. If your name comes up, just be like, "I totally identify as (opposite gender)!" and then they can't send you to Syria or whatever.

I think my favorite comment on this comes from a married white woman whose avatar on fb is a "Confederate Flag."

"I don't want to share living quarters with a man!"

I kind of feel bad for her husband now.

You know, I kind of wonder if this is a two-fer attack.
The first bit is to try and distract us liberals from how they're planning on gutting the health care system for the 98%, but...I'm slowly starting to think there's a second bit aimed at smoking out people who are 100% loyal to the administration.

It'll be interesting to see pan out.

MsMarvelDuckie 07-26-2017 12:11 PM

Banned from military? Well, there goes the Navy.....

Yeah I think he may have gone WAY TOO FAR with that one. It's unconstitutional in the extreme.

Entirely possible. Though I can't imagine even his most staunch supporters can possibly be 100% behind every aspect of what he says/wants to do. There's no way.

Doubtful.

They may not be 100%, but...a good chunk of GOP's power comes from lock-step voting and presenting a unified front.

Which is a whole lot easier to maintain when one is in the minority, which they aren't anymore.

Hillary Clinton Used to Be Terrible On Marriage Equality

Quote:

It's ****ing moronic—it's political malpractice—to attack a politician for coming around on your issues. There are lots of other issues the queer community is going to be pressing politicians on, from passing equal rights bills and trans rights bills to defeating anti-trans bathroom legislation and RFRAs. If pols who are currently on the wrong side of any of those issues see no benefit to changing their positions—if they see no political benefit—they're going to be harder to persuade. Why should they come around on our issues, why should they switch sides or change their votes, if we're going to go after them hammer and tongs for the positions they used to hold? ("Please change your mind and support us." "No." "Pretty please?" "OK, I've changed my mind and I'll vote to support you." "**** YOU FOR NOT ALWAYS AGREEING WITH ME! I'M NOT VOTING FOR YOU! **** YOU SOME MORE!")
Of course, these are people attacking the child of a former legislator and executive.
But the point remains.

Chelsea isn't wrong.
And pointing out that Hillary changed her stance is moronic.

You're better than this, Andrew.

sdp 07-27-2017 03:15 PM

You realize that both Republicans and Democrats care about the votes and not specific issues for the most part. Hillary's change was to get votes just as much as Trumps change was. There is no "good guy", they all have their own agenda. The LGBTQRSTUV and minority communities are being used as much as the religious / racist communities are, and both call each other ignorant for not knowing the facts.

Chelsea is not a "child" anymore and she has been getting more and more into politics so it's fair game, even if she says she's not interested I can see her running once the "unlikability" of her mother starts to clear up, give it a few years.

plastroncafe 07-27-2017 03:24 PM

Believe me, there isn't a minority community in the US that isn't keenly aware of this fact.
But you're comparing minority and majority communities, which aren't the same thing. One is upset at the injustice they face, and the other is upset because how dare you treat everyone else in the same way they alone should be treated.

Perhaps I should have said Offspring, rather than child.
And my defense of her has more to do with the fact that no offspring should be held accountable for the sins of their parents, than it does protecting her from her own words and actions.

Honestly, the folks who hate Hillary are always going to hate her.
Some people just don't like uppity bints.
Me? I'm rather fond of them myself.
