The show is one huge story. I like Season 3 the best but you have to watch the first two seasons to enjoy it.

I wouldn't neccesarily say that. Sure the Turtles' fight with Shredder and the Foot was the main plot of the first season, but in the following seasons they had to deal with alien invasions, mystical creatures from other dimensions and all sorts of wild stuff!

It's still very heavy continuity driven. It's best to watch it in order.

I also got BttS Vol. 2 from Mighty Ape, the case was ok, but it wasn't sealed.

I ordered two copies of BTTS Vol. 2 from mightyape and the cases were fine. They were both sealed too. Strange :-?

TheCanadiandrome 02-18-2013 05:11 PM

indeed, very strange. maybe whoever runs that site doesn't know what they're doin lol. i dunno, any way, i just bought a pack of 3 dvd cases at my store and replaced the broken BTTS Vol. 2 case

Your ideal strategy is to buy random lots consisting of the original, 3-4 episode releases of Seasons 1-2 (especially Season 2), not just for the spine artwork, but for value and the special features that aren't found on the season sets. Turtles Against H.A.T.E. and Ninja Tribunal will be a bit pricey and BTTS is an import challenge, but if you can spend around $150 for the complete series via Amazon, you're doing pretty good. Just avoid library copies and those listed in "Acceptable" condition.

Since its continuity driven, except for perhaps Fast Forward, its best to follow in order. I enjoy Seasons 1, 3, and 4 the best. It just needs to shed its "middle child" syndrome and understand that this may be the last TMNT series with 2D animation, and may be unique in terms of being action driven and less silly.

I gathered my collection of 2k3/4kids DVDs by fellow Dromers, eBay, Zellers, and when Blockbuster Video and Rogers Video both went outta business

I pretty much followed this strategy. I got all 14 first volumes for little over 100$.

Now I need to decide whether to wait for a Season 3 Boxset 1 to surface somewhere or just buy the Season 3 individual volumes...

The cheapest Turtles Against Hate DVD I've seen on the internet is $60 on Amazon Canada.

Yeah good thing I didn't pay that. Can't recall, but I think I got this on from BBV when they went outta business

ABrown 02-21-2013 02:00 PM

As of this post, there's really only a few releases that are worth the amount that you would have to pay.

$25.99 isn't a terrible price for 14 episodes: http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...+ninja+turtles

And $3.59 isn't a bad price for two episodes: http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...+ninja+turtles

Finally, $10.76 isn't a terrible price for the Turtles Forever movie (then again, I think you can find it at Target for like $9.99) http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...urtles+forever

So I'd say if you don't own ANY of the dvds of the 4Kids series, just get the Turtles Forever movie for now and enjoy the Nickelodeon series.

This is the TV cut version though with scenes cut out. Better off with the UK release.

Because they know that is rare these days and that desperate people would pay for it to complete their collections. I see that Season 2 Part 2 is no longer available on Amazon UK or Amazon US, When it was available it was selling for $200 brand new.

Longview01 02-22-2013 05:36 AM

I deal quite alot in video games...its my main hobby...so I understand and have had to pay out quite a bit a few times for some rarer games but never really thought the same thing happened with dvds.

It's cool to own something rare, its even cooler when you didn't know it was rare tho

lol true

I had a copy of Turtles Against Hate but ended up having to throw it in the bin. I was going to sell it so I tested it in the DVD player. The first episode works fine but when it got to the second episode it kept freezing. So then I took the DVD out and looked at the back of the disc and it had a few noticeable deep scratches on it. I got it from ebay last year. I don't know why I didn't test the DVD when I had just got it. Waste of £40, be too late to ask for money back now, the seller will probably blame me for scratching the disc lol It wasn't a brand new copy, it was probably used a lot of times, the case it even came in was squashed. Thank God most of my other 4kids TMNT DVDs are brand new, only 3 of them were used. Season 4 Box 1, Ninja Tribunal and Season 2 Part 2 but the discs look fine, don't see any scratches on them and the cases are in great condition so the sellers must have taken good care of them unlike that other cowboy.

Yeah, that wouldn't really help me though. That's a region 2 dvd, and I only have region 1 dvd players. :(

The best way to watch Turtles Forever is on YouTube. And use Keepvid to download it.:twink:
