TMNT Hacks?
Any roms out there that add something new to old NES/SNES games? There's an almost infinite amount of "new" games made out of old ones for series' like Pokemon & Super Mario World, as well as many others. With that said, has anyone come across any for the lean green teens? I'm aware of a hack of the original TMNT NES game that makes it even harder, and a super mario bros hack that uses Raphael in place of Mario, but that's it...

Haha, I forgot about that one. Another hack of the same game comes to mind, "Teenage Mutant Smoker Turtles".
The only thing different than the original is that your turtle is smoking a cigarette throughout. |
Anybody got any good ideas for a future TMNT hack?

I'd play a TMNT RPG, or maybe a better fit would be a strategy RPG. Something like Disgaea or Super Robot Wars.
edit: mentioned this in an IRC channel and someone said "Teenage Mutant Ninja Tactics". edit2: I really wish they'd make a TMNT Lego game. |
Nintendo VS Capcom tmnt hack
Nintendo VS Capcom: NES hack
Rom Hacked: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game Original game release: 1990 Hack completed & released: Jan 27, 2006 Description I couldn't think of a better name. The rom isn't 100% perfect either. All four character sprites use some of the same sprites. Like jumping, kicking, getting hit, etc. A problem that escalated while working on this hack. Furious that I had done so much work on this rom. I decided to finish it anyway and be done with it. This is my very first hack. Text changes made as well. I also tried to change the year in this game from 1990 to 2006. I couldn't fix that for some reason using Translhextion. Sadly. Choose between Oni-Link, Luigi (holding a shotgun), POW Megaman/Rockman, or King Arthur. Work your way through Iron Knuckles, Octoroks, etc. and face off with Dr. Wily & Ganondorf in a showdown and save Zelda & Mario. Be sure to apply the palette file that comes with the download to fully enjoy this hack. ----------------------------------------------------- Winzip file Total file size: 1.47 KB (Right click & Save target as) http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/NVC.zip http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/snap0055.bmp http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/snap0000.png http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/snap0027.png http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/snap0030.png http://www.freewebs.com/guardianshacks/snap0052.png http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gekzHdE-sPQ |

This NES hack of the first game from 2008 features different layouts with the more difficult enemies appearing sooner, approximately two levels earlier than usual. Only the bosses and underwater section is the same.

Bumping this thread since I was curious if the situation had changed but besides some TMNT 1 hacks like one with OT looking sprite changes there doesn't seem to be any. I didn't have time to do a ton of looking for them but the only one I found the person is actually charging for them and screw that.

Yeah I had already looked there but I'm looking for original games though, those are just basic fixes.

This hack (updated this past June) of the TMNT1 NES game seems like it could actually be an interesting improvement to the original (much as I love it). I'll have to give this one a try later: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3486/ |
Want a hellish hack of TMNT3?
Play our port of TMNT3, and prepare to lost nerve as Shredder can't die even after making him "blink" 4 times ;) Ontopic A AI style hack with TMNT owuld be cool, with April as damsel in distress Also before seeing TMNT2 i thought the game would be taking place in the prehistory |
