April being homeless is a great idea, if it's such a problem because she's black then they should've made her white as she is supposed to be.

Who wants to get that raincoat is yellow?

I would've preferred that, and it would've been cool to have Angel be the girl who !sets the turtles instead of April, now that is an interesting change to the status quo. Changing the color of April's skin doesn't.
If she starts talking stereotypical black I'm gonna assume Cubed is one of the writers.

I don't think the "lighter" "comedic" show will present a homeless April. That would be too serious.

Could only be topped if she had a teen pregnancy and give birth to Angel.

I'm up for TMNT: Degrassi, this is 2018 , stop living in the past these things happen and kids need to know about them. Nothing wrong with pregnant single April.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really seeing that as a homeless look, so much as it is a hiking incognito one. She has a walking stick, imagine if she were a homeless kid in the city she might be a little more sports inclined, a la Casey.

This is more what I had in mind when I wanted a young April, a 16 adventurous girl. The Nick 2012 version didn't work for me.

And young Casey should be 18 not younger so there's plausibility that he's a tough guy. 2012 was too young.

I just hope we don't always get a teen April from Nick... That would be a problem. Having two In a row is ok tho.

Is it? I don't think there's any more black homeless people than there are white ones, nor any stereotype to that end.

Yep. I wouldn't mind a show with no April.

BUT, that would be CREATIVE, now wouldn't it? sigh... I really hope this isn't the slow decent of turtles into main stream 'creativity' where in a few years it won't even resemble what we loved.

I wonder if we will get any more leaks soon before the reveal. This first leak gives me hope for the turtle designs; it's the art style I wanted for the 2012 show.

Maybe it’s the same situation as Tip from Home. In Home all the Boov perform what they call a friendly take over and send all the humans in the world to Australia. And Tip was accidentally forgotten when she got separated from her mother.

So maybe April isn’t homeless in a runaway or abandoned sense, but more trying to find out what happened to her father following a Kraang invasion

Personally I assumed it was a hole in her jeans, and possibly just the style.






Was hoping for a return of adult April, that might have made her actually feel more like April (hopefully a more April feel will come later), but it's a cute design. She does look a bit younger yet.
