Heavy Metal 25th ann reissue

Quote:

This special collection is a remastered & expanded version of the enormously popular and completely sold out TMNT 25th Anniversary Book.

We've added an 8 page gallery and four different fantastic covers. This edition features a gorgeous Glenn Fabry cover.

Only 500 copies of this book with the Fabry cover are available and 150 of these will be sold exclusively at ComicCon is San Diego.

Through a special agreement with Mirage Studios, and other than the original Eastman & Laird 15 issue run--Kevin Eastman has hand picked his all time favorite Turtle Tales--long stories and short features--which include team-ups with Corben, Talbot, Lawson, Bode, and many, many more! 196 pages of TMNT awesomeness!

This is a pre-order item sold on a first come first served basis here and when they are gone, like the original press run, they are gone--the original print run has been sold out for a year. This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives. Anticipated ship date is late August 2011
So there's four new covers:

Glenn Fabry http://www.heavymetal.com/shm/produc...oducts_id=5561

Simon Bisley http://www.heavymetal.com/shm/produc...oducts_id=5560

Mark Bode http://www.heavymetal.com/shm/produc...oducts_id=5559

Richard Corben http://www.heavymetal.com/shm/produc...oducts_id=5558

Nice! I'm skinto right now, but if they've still got em, I'll certainly be picking up a Fabry cover on payday!

F*ck my life, I don't have much cash & prolly won't for a little while but god I want that Fabry cover, his work is INSANE.
You'd think they would've color corrected that Bisley piece by now... Bah.

The Bisley cover is weird to me...maybe it's the weapons and bandanas mish-mash.

wilddiverse 06-20-2011 06:24 PM

I recognize the Bode and Corben as reused cover art. Are the Bisley and Fabry covers new pieces?

And can anyone point me at images of the covers that Fabry did for the European reprints of Ninja Turtles? I've only come up with what I believe are two of the four:

Obviously, I want more.

I need it as a reminder, of how far my post "grammar" has come in my time on the forum, to keep me from getting to bent out of shape by other's posting style.

Well, I'll give you that, for sure.

I pre-ordered the Fabry cover. I'm all for it. :o I'd really like the Bisley cover also, but, y'know, kinda ridiculous to order two of the same book just for a different cover, especially since I own the first print.

Not too excited by the Corben and Bode covers just for the fact they're on issues of the comic. Excellent covers, though.

Slap-Happy 06-20-2011 08:18 PM

Hmm, probably gonna order the Fabry cover. That sh*t looks great.

Anyhoo, how much does the first edition go for now if its sold out?

wilddiverse 06-20-2011 08:39 PM

Last I heard, Mirage still had a box of the first printing available for the $20 cover price. http://www.miragelicensing.com/paypal/trades.html

CyberCubed 06-20-2011 09:53 PM

I wonder why Nick approved of this when they did not want Mirage to put out anymore trades, (not that Mirage would, anyway).

Granted I'm sure Eastman on board with IDW allowed him to pull some strings to get Heavy Metal to publish something instead of IDW.

Could it be a Heavy Metal/IDW collaboration?

Because that was a contract with Mirage. Not Heavy Metal. Kevin retained the rights to publish certain books, and Peter sold his rights to Nick. Whatever Peter owned, Nick now owns. Kevin is a separate entity, and we know that Kevin is involved with Nick/IDW already.

ordered the 4 of them like a sucker...
