Spider-Man 2017 film

So apparantly the subtitle for the next Spider-Man movie is Homecoming. What? Does the villain attack the high school dance??

No it's not.

Homecoming is the name of one of the storylines from the comic, though I hear the film will be inspired by both the Ultimate comics and the Spidey Loves MJ books from the 2000s

ToTheNines 04-13-2016 03:51 AM

They're pretty confident, if they're really going with such a cheesy subtitle.

Well, stuff like that happened in the comics, so why not?

Etsyturtle2 04-13-2016 05:49 AM

Does the term homecoming have something to with Spider-Man finally being in the MCU?

NinjaPug 04-13-2016 07:22 AM

There's already another thread for this.

Baxter Stockmen 04-13-2016 12:08 PM

I really feel like they should have just called it "Marvel's Spider-Man"

The whole homecoming thing just bugs me.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 04-13-2016 12:12 PM

Spectacular. It's so obvious. But nope, go with Home-Coming instead.

Andrew NDB 04-13-2016 12:48 PM

Damn, they're actually using that title? That's ballsy.

Baxter Stockmen 04-13-2016 01:10 PM

Probably just going to rub it in sony's face that they can call it whatever the hell they feel like and they'll still make a better spider-man movie than they ever could.

You do realize Sony is still making this movie, right?

Ditto. I wasn't a Spiderman fan until Civil War, and I've never been able to sit through any of the five previous Spidey films... but this sounds amazing.

I wants it so much.

I thought that, too.

I'm a bigger Spider-Man fan than most people, probably one of the biggest on this forum. And seeing this plot makes me so happy that they're taking Spidey back to his teenage roots.

I can't wait.

It's also in line with the Mary Jane comic books of the 2000s, which the producers of the movie have said they did research on for this movie.

ToTheNines 05-19-2016 04:52 PM

I could dig it. Seems kinda plain and simple, but I'm sure that's not 100 percent accurate anyways.

What a twist!

I wonder what brought him back?

What if he's playing Osborn and not the Vulture?

NinjaPug 05-20-2016 11:23 AM

Some info on the villains and costumes from JoBlo. These guys have been spot on with their Marvel scoops in the past and were the first to report Hulk was going to be in Ragnarok.

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy 05-20-2016 11:35 AM

I'd rather see Vulture and Osborn than Vulture and Tinkerer (who?), but the Vulture/Osborn story does sound like a dangerously close retread of the Amazing Spidey duo of films...

Hmmm.

CyberCubed 05-20-2016 11:45 AM

One good thing is despite all these Spiderman reboots they at least use different villains each time other than Green Goblin. I'm glad we got to see Lizard in a movie for example, and seeing Sandman and Shocker was alright even if the latter was nothing like the character. I also don't even feel the need to see Doc Oct again because Spiderman 2 did him so well.

The only real do-over they need to do is Venom obviously.

Shocker=/=Electro

How can you possibly confuse them as being the same character?

And the Rhino. Rhino needs a do-over... I'm not a Spidey fan and even I know that. :tlol:

Electro and Shocker have similar sounding names and powers. Also I am not that big a Spiderman fan so I'm not as familiar with the characters.

No, they don't.

Electro has electric powers, hence the name "Electro".

Shocker uses sonic vibrations from a pair of gauntlets he wears.

Keaton is back in? Wondervwhat changed his mind. I am not a fan of the Vulture as an old man with a flying harness is dull to me. Perhaps the film can convince me otherwisr. Mysterio is the one I want to see. Hope the Green Goblin will get a rest.

A few articles have popped up suggesting Kingpin should be included and I lovevthe idea, but don't see it happening.

Yeah, I really wanted to see Mysterio too. I think Keaton would've done a great job.

Ha yeah that's pretty funny. If he can't be Miles Morales, at least he's still involved in the film some kind of way

NinjaPug 06-23-2016 11:25 AM

Bokeem Woodbine has joined the cast. Dude was awesome in Fargo last season. The report says he's a villain.

Andrew NDB 06-23-2016 11:32 AM

Uh oh. Getting kind of villain heavy here.
