NEW Nick TMNT Beat-em Up Arcade Cabinet Coming Soon
|
Woah, that's really cool!
Can't say I'm optimistic about the gameplay (looks a lot like the 2012 Activision/Magic Pockets console/3DS game), but I hope I can find a place that has one! Let's hope they don't charge $2 or more per credit! |

Few years too late. I've got low expectations but it's a cool thing to exist in the first place. I'm certain I'll never have an opportunity to play one, so I hope somebody can film a bit of the gameplay.

I wonder how Raw Thrills got the TMNT license.
|
I wonder if this will ever see some sort of a console release.

This is like...5 years too late. Should have come out within the first or second year of the Nick cartoon. Not after it ended.

Actually one of there games was ported to Xbox One recently, which was Big Buck Hunter Arcade |
Okay I did not expect this.

This is not "too late", it's market is not kids who like the Nick show but more kids who go to arcades, it looks flashy and fun.
I doubt it'll get a port, it's likely an arcade exclusive and I'm guessing it'll be fun and similar to the Konami arcade games. New arcade games come out all the time without much press from gaming "journalists" or "hardcore" gamers and many of them are pretty damn cool and fun. I recently played the new Jurassic Park arcade game and it was a blast, I was surprised by how little it was ever talked about. |
A licensed game really usually only happens anymore to capitalize on nostalgia or on a current brand. While it being an arcade brawler might tap that nostalgia button, it being based on a show that will be over by the time the game is released isn't doing it any favors. And if it's supposed to be marketed at adults, why would they choose an incarnation where a large percentage of them still snub it because it's not "their" Turtles?
I mean, I'm excited for it. There's an arcade right down the road from where I work; if they get it in I'll be there for sure. But you have to look at things objectively. |
Awesome, wonder how accessible it will be, I don't think there even is any near where I live anymore, and if there is , if they would even get the machine.
|
I hope they bring it to the arcade section of the movie theater I always go to, not many arcade cabinets in there, but it would be cool to see it their someday.
I also wonder what the levels will be like in the game, surely it will be based on events that happened in the Nick series, but maybe they will have a level based on the crossover episodes? that would be fun. Maybe the new game can do the Turtles In Time thing, have Renet transport the Turtles to different time periods. |

I think the closest arcade that would carry this might be a Dave and Buster's near me? |

The Turtle Power Podcast just registered for Press credentials for the IAAPA, so they will get to see the new Arcade Game.

Arcade Heroes posted a VLOG About the game, it has some details about the game itself.

I wonder how hard it would be to buy one of the actual arcade cabinets... or how much it would be... *dreams*
