If you want a sneek peak, just look up Goseiger on Youtube.

Judging from the description, It really doesnt "sound cool". Samurai was a f*cking uncreative train-wreck with lousy actors, horrible comedic side-plots, and the stories more or less ripped straight from Shinkenger. If Megaforce ISNT a hybrid, we're in for another shoddy cut-and-paste job instead of something creative.

Box art for the season 1-7 set. Shout! have sensibly split them into two volumes

MMPR Seasons One-Three

Power Rangers Zeo, Turbo, In Space, and Lost Galaxy (Seasons Four-Seven)

And how could you not post these?

I like how each set will have a booklet. They'll most likely contain episode guides and what not.

So it's the first two MMPR seasons that will be split in two. All the following seasons seem like they'll be released in their entirety when they're put out individually. The MMPR set has two bonus discs while the Zeo-Lost Galaxy set will have one bonus disc. Now all I want is to see the cover art for the cases with the bonus discs.

This DVD deal that Shout! Factory has with Saban also covers Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, VR Troopers, and BeetleBorgs. The former will be heading to DVD in September and it's probably the first half of the series. That's all fine and dandy for the fans of that show, but I'm still looking forward to hearing news on the latter two.

Power Rangers is to be aired on the 4Kids block

TheCanadiandrome 06-12-2012 10:58 PM

I want that Red Ranger figure!

Will certainly pass on Megaforce. Was lead to believe the Goseiger bullet had been dodged.

ZariusTwo 06-13-2012 04:56 AM

There's more to Megaforce than meets the eye, I'm sure of it, but we'll see how it unfolds

Saban's reps said the reason they didnt do Gokaiger was because it "only appealed to boys" and the pirating theme was "too hardcore"

...Do they fail to understand how big One Piece and POTC are?

Hero 06-13-2012 02:44 PM

On a brighter note, it could improve on Goseiger.

Just feels like they ditched caviar for fish fingers for the 20th anniversary.

It looks like more research was done and a better answer has now been given.

I spoke with my source today and they had a better answer to this question. Most of our discussion is off-the-record. They are unable to skip a season, which makes sense because Goseiger comes before Gokaiger. Gokaiger fans will be very pleased when the time is right. Unlike the Shinkenger adaptation, Power Rangers Megaforce has gone through an extensive creative process in hopes to deliver a great product for the anniversary. One thing to keep in mind that some decisions are out of their hands. We all know that Nick’s “20 episodes per year” is lame. These are the bottlenecks that they have to work with. Saban Brands have been reading the comments on the forums as one way to get feedback from the fans. I don’t anticipate an EPIC season, but I am looking forward to it. The Easter eggs in the two Power Rangers Megaforce Brand teasers indirectly answered that question for me.

They really are using Goseiger because it's the next one after Shinkenger (just like I thought), and they'll most likely use Gokaiger after Megaforce is done. It's too bad Nickelodeon dragged out Samurai for two years though. Samurai would have been all done by this year, we'd get Megaforce this year, and they'd be adapting Gokaiger for next year and we'd really have a TRUE anniversary season.

Well it certainly looks like I'll wait and try and get that Season 1-3 box-set! The White Ranger art looks amazing! I'm just bummed that the Green Ranger didn't make it on the side of the box or on any of the individual seasons spines. :tsad:

To get the MMPR complete series box set means you'd also have to take the seasons 4-7 box set. TimeLife isn't offering them separately. Though I guess you could still get it all, and try selling the seasons 4-7 set afterwards.

TimeLife starts shipping these out in early August, but at the San Diego Comic-Con that will be happening next month in July, attendees will actually have a chance to get theirs first. I don't know if it'll be possible for them to get each set separately though, or if it's a package deal like on TimeLife.

Darth Knuckles 06-14-2012 03:05 AM

I'm hoping that Shout Factory will offer them separately like that. It just seems very familiar and like they did both Beast Wars and ReBoot. They both had individual releases and box-sets that looked just like these. I think I'll just wait and see if they offer them like this later on.

ZariusTwo 06-14-2012 04:35 AM

Ah, well that makes more sense than the whole "pirates are hardcore" nonsense. They must have been using the Gokaiger casting sides in case they could negotiate with Toei, only they failed.

Rangercrew are quite opitmistic, even going as far as saying this will be an original season instead of a translation, but we'll whenever or not that turns out to be wishful hyperbole

I guess they ought to do that, and I hope they do for your sake.

It really is too bad that they couldn't use Gokaiger for the anniversary season. Even so, I'm just glad that we got confirmation on why it wasn't used and why Goseiger was used instead, and even gladder that it's the reason I was always thinking of.

Hero 06-14-2012 08:31 AM

Not sure I like the idea of 'Megaforce' being dragged out across 2 years. It will be 2016 by the time we get a Go-Buster adaptation.

I wonder how much of the 'Angel' theme will be retained.

If Saban want to do 20 episodes a year, they should really go for a quality over quantity approach to the formula. We obviously did not experience that with Samurai.

Thanks for clearing things up further you guys.

It's not Saban's choice, it's Nicks', Saban do their 40 ep seasons as usual, but the network there on insists they only air a limited number of episodes per year

Hero 06-14-2012 10:42 AM

Ah right. Talk about spreading it thin. :)

Or God forbid, 2017.
