All shucks guys, yall flatter me... please don't stop.:P

On a serious note, I think this thread is a cool idea as not only will we get to see a great variety of art pieces and takes, but we'll also get see where our intersts lie. As a major art collector these past few years, I think its great to see new people collecting these one of kind pieces. It was starting to feel lonely!

This place could also be great for networking of sorts - as seen above- where people can get info on commissions, pricing, etc. Also maybe a bit of trading and selling as well. All in all, very cool.

I agree this could be a great network for buying/selling/trading pieces.

I just got this in the mail today:

I'm sure there are some other people with some A.C. Farley art. I'll eventually post mine on here.

Heh, was wondering if they Dooney cards would appear in here. I put in a few bids myself, but was outmatched at the end. I really wanted the Renet and Shredder ones, but obviously not as much as some!

lilmotto 03-06-2010 04:09 PM

Haha I knew they would tooo I bid kinda high for the shredder and casey jones.... sadly i couldn't snipe bid like i wanted to lol

kool75uk1 03-06-2010 04:40 PM

Well i wanted the shredder sketchcard Donney listed last week and i got out bid on that one, that went for $31.00 more than mine.:tcouch:

lilmotto 03-06-2010 08:40 PM

If you don't mind what was your max bid on the shredder card this time? Mine clearly was $35. I thought about going higher but I really didn't have the time I had to snap bid everything then leave

kool75uk1 03-07-2010 05:25 AM

My max bid was $51.00 on the shredder and casey cards.

lilmotto 03-07-2010 08:33 AM

Well that makes me feel better cause now I know I didn't have a shot lol

kool75uk1 03-07-2010 09:46 AM

Im sorry about that man, tho im sure there will be more listed on ebay in the near future.

lilmotto 03-07-2010 09:48 AM

No need to apologize. I would be upset if you bid $36 but since you bid that high then I don't mind you won shredder for $36 ;)

All those ones on eBay he did for free at conventions and I would not be willing to pay anything for them.

Samhain 03-09-2010 01:15 PM

You know what kinda annoys me? How almost any artist that does commissions will pretty much draw anything you want. But always for a price. ''You want 2, 3, 8 characters!? Sure! But itll cost ya''.

What I dont get is how an artist can refuse to do any group shot Tmnt commissions because it starts to feel like ''real work''. The hell? Your paying for it. Its real work. Just because its not published its a waste of time? Your Probably paying more for the commission than a company would pay the artist for his ''real work''. How much do any of those Mirage guys get paid for their stuff? Probably not what they deserve to get. Anyways, I just set up an awesome Tmnt fight scenece commish and it should be here in about a month or two. Surprise surprise.

Since the sketches are vintage sketches and not ones that the seller just got yesterday at a convention, I think the price is fair. Although fair doesn't mean it'll sell for that. Also, unless Murph still has a stack of those books somewhere, you're not likely to see that book for sale again anytime soon.
