As much as I hate to see Playmates lose all of their support, I must admit these look phenomenal and on the off chance they do, it makes me wonder what Snakeweed, Spider Bytez or any of the other mutants for that matter would look in this style. If they ever made a Snakeweed, I would buy that in an instant, but that's highly unlikely.

I .... CAN'T ......... HANDLE...... WAITING........ Why must we endure this sort of torture?!?

The people calling out Playmates have a point. Have some of you forgotten that Playmates DOES have a collectors line?

This is what you can expect from a Playmates "adult collector" figure

I still buy Playmates Nick figures, but they aren't getting off the hook. These figures blow them away, and I want Playmates to try harder. That's all.

What would a $40 adult collector figure by Plamates that makes no compromises on quality be like? I'd love to find out.

Well, at least the eyes do not look so in all the figures of this line. You have to choose carefully in the shop, but you're right, if you buy it from the internet it's just a matter of luck.
We will see what the results will be with the '90 movie figures.

Candy Kappa 04-03-2014 04:18 AM

I'm gonna drop the movie classics and see if Revoltech might make more TMNT figures. The first Classics are very disappointing on so many levels, it would have been great getting proper collector's TMNT figures by people that know what they are doing.

I really hope those

I had issues with my Mikey and sent him back, got lucky with the second one, I think Playmates need to acknowledge, adult collectors would rather spent a little more than $15 bucks and get better figures, with greater care and quality taken on the production.

I really hope those Revoltech figures stay as awesome as they look, and aren't a pain in the a** to get hold of.

Will probably only pick up Leo at first... wait until I can get Black and White Neca turtles, and then see about other Turtles

seriously! that wandering eye was the worst. how hard is it to do a quick QC check and correct the eye paint process!? if a few cases got through, i could understand, but when EVERY Don figure is F'd up, it feels like they noticed it and said, "F it, fans'll buy'em anyways."

Playmates' whole philosophy in a nutshell.

The Boston Ninja Turtle 04-03-2014 11:36 AM

What i meant more in "Defending" Playmates is that we shouldnt assume Revoltech is going to make EVERY character from every TMNT series

i think some people think thats how they roll, its not

I mean i would love it, but i wouldn't be surprised if all we get are the 4 Turtles

Candy Kappa 04-03-2014 03:07 PM

Yeah, if IF Revoltech makes more then the turtles it won't expand further then Splinter, April and Shredder.

Maybe Karai, Casey, Rahzar & Fishface, just maybe. They have done several character in other series, but usually those are a secure buy from customers.

Spidergreg 04-03-2014 11:41 PM

Are you guys really comparing Playmates vs Revoltech?
Different price range bro!

That's like comparing Ferrari vs a Toyota.

not sure what RM180 means but Revoltech start at about 30$ us maybe 40 depending series

RM180 is slightly less than the recommended retail price of a standard Shellraiser. Yup, $30, $40 sounds about right.

Why did you think i wasn't so excited? LoL...
Way too expensive. I would only pay this kinda money for OT turtles.

Calling Playmates a Toyota is a bit of a stretch.

They are now more closer to a Lada. Especially with certain figures and their "collector's" line.

Rukitron 04-04-2014 02:21 AM

I wonder if the turtles will be one offs like doing revoltech Lupin and Jigen, but no Goemon or Zennigata.
Seriously though, a Shredder would be nice...

Candy Kappa 04-04-2014 03:18 AM

it's a big possibility that the turtles is a one thing only, I doubt they will be as popular like... Queen's Blade *cough* extremefanservice *cough*

Spidergreg 04-04-2014 03:28 AM

This site says they'll be out on September.
Price not decided.

Exactly, higher end companies like this only really make figures they know will sell...and while yes they make what the fans want they dont make full lines

Shredder i can see as a high possibility

exactly, and its different region and Culture, where here in the US and in playmates mind a collectors figure is ok at 20 bucks, as long as it has the collector sticker on it and is different than the toy line aimed at kids

Revoltech, figuarts etc put time and detail into these, you wont find these for 20 on a shelf and there is a reason they are expensive
