Wwe 2k18
This will apparently be the biggest game to date, with 218 overall characters on the roster, including the main roster, DLC, and managers. Who's excited? https://www.thesmackdownhotel.com/wwe2k18/roster/ |

Still excited for the game, but boy oh boy am I glad I didn't buy the deluxe edition. That DLC is pretty slim.

Getting it for PS4, deluxe edition; and for Nintendo Switch

Preordered this for the 8 players on screen alone.
At last, we've returned to the PS2 era of capabilities  |

Yeah this is the first time you could have 8 guys on the screen at one time, in this series at least.

Well, as a consistent defender of the WWE 2k series, I gotta say... I'm very disappointed in what I've played so far
I'm not sure where to begin. I'll just... jot random thoughts down in no order. -Framerate on 6 man matches were noticeably bad, so I dreaded playing an 8-man match (which was the main reason I was excited about this game). Let me just say this: an 8-man match runs at about one third the speed. It's practically unplayable. Total let down. -The progression speed for your career/MyPlayer thing is absurdly slow. Let me put it this way: Each match will get you anywhere from 0 (if it ends with a cutscene), to 300 (5 star match, which will take about 15 minutes) points per match. Then with these points you have to decide what you're going to do with them... Unlock a wrestler for around 3000 points (estimated average) Unlock an arena or belt (100-300) Buy Loot Boxes, which unlock Create a Wrestler parts for you... to be purchased again. -The game comes with the largest roster yet!... and about 75 percent locked. Combine that with the above fact that that gaining currency takes forever, it almost forces you to buy the accelerator for another 20 bucks. -The GLITCHES. I usually like glitches; they're a staple in wrestling games and I usually crack up when they happen. But they've happened every match I've played so far from minor (the ropes being tangled around the wrestler in the middle of the ring) to game breaking (wrestler deforms into a ball and jitters) -Zero weight detection. I've seen Sin Cara suplex the hell out of Braun Strauman in multiple different ways. -Less sim, more arcade style. This is preference of course, but I prefer a slower paced wrestling game that matches the TV product. Instead, I have damn near light speed strikes and Big Show doing front rolls to get up. -The AI has become very unfun. I like a challenge, but it should at least try to emulate the show. They reverse damn near everything now (even with the sliders dragged to about 15% on Normal difficulty) and they go for the cheapest wins whenever possible. I had a series of Tag Team TLC matches and none of them lasted longer than 4 minutes, and nobody came close to getting a finisher. They just keep throwing you out of the ring and climbing the ladder. Anyway... I'm just not happy with it. It's not even that I feel underwhelmed; it's that this genuinely feels like an unfinished game. |
You can buy the accelerator for like 2-3 bucks so I dont know where you're paying 20 bucks for that lol.

Got it confused with the MyPlayer Kickstart.
And I'm in Canada, so its $6.99. Still weak sauce how much they've locked away. |
It's been like that since THQ had the rights to the games, pretty sure it started with WWE '13.
|
How are you enjoying it?

Buying it next week.

I dig the game, so far. As usual, the main thing is presentation. You sort of buy these games every year for the roster update, and it all looks great. The short time I’ve invested in the career mode is pretty offputting, though, as the dialogue from superstars backstage doesn’t fit their characters. Cassius Ohno was a complete dick to me the first time I met him. Weird.
Lots of glitches. But seeing Sheamus and Cesaro’s proper entrance warms my heart all the same. |

But this year... I've just had tons of very, very bad gameplay experiences. I've probably played close to 30 matches so far, and if I had to guess I'd say 20 of them contained big glitches, 5 of them being game breaking where we had to quit. We played a Royal Rumble where one guy just froze where you couldn't eliminate him. A cage match where someone got knocked through the cage and couldn't get back in the ring. A match where I broke out of a submission but I never left the animation (so I was stuck in a sharpshooter position.) A match where I froze on the top turnbuckle. Just... lots and lots of bad experiences. I'll wait for a patch and hope for the best. And hope the framerate improves on it's 6+ player matches. But yeah, The Bar has the best tag entrance today :tcool: |
Just waitin on The Switch version
