That script was really something else.

Some of it's descriptive writing was decent in some of the fantastical elements (lord knows it would have been dumbed down for a film though), but the alien concept and how they ended it was depressing, so no thanks.

Yeah, that was it. Eyefvck, my bad.

It was Leo "eyefvcking" Raph, and the writer meant for it to be glaring... but that is NOT what that word means. NOT. AT. ALL.

Shredder was an alien. Turtles were aliens. Planet of Turtles. What a ride.

I believe I found it here if anyone is interested in reading Blue Door again, or for the first time.

I had to go hunt down that lovely excerpt from it.

Quote:

Casey charges back to the trailer, where he furiously SWINGS
OPEN the U-Haul Doors —

THE TURTLES FREEZE IN POSITION - Raph with Leo in a headlock.
Don grabbing Raph's leg. And Mikey pulling at Leo's waist.

Casey notices The Turtles have moved around April's
furniture, TRANSFORMING THE U-HAUL INTO A MOBILE LIVING ROOM .

CASEY (CONT'D)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but...
don't Ninjas pride themselves on
being stealth ? And undetectable ?

DONATELLO
In all fairness, it's been a while
since we've had a proper meal.
Check this one off to low blood
sugar .

Casey SLAMS the door shut.

Raph releases Leo. Don and Mikey standing between them as
the Turtles catch their breath. After a beat, Leo, while eye-
f***ing Raph
, addresses Mikey:
Just kills me. :tlol:

If one Turtle had to be gay it would probably be Donatello.

Why Donatello?

He wears a purple bandana which is a highly recognized gay color. He's also usually in most universes the most understanding, polite and quiet. Leonardo and Raphael definitely give off the macho, "toxic masculinity" vibe, and Mikey just seems like a free-spirit but probably straight. Don seems to be the most likely to "swing this way" if you know what I mean.

But not Fred Wolf Donatello. I see him as very different than all the others due to how assertive he was and what a large temper he had.

IndigoErth 07-13-2019 05:49 PM

So straight guys can't have those qualities...?

Also not sure you even understand what "toxic" means, as none of the Turtles are.

The-Shredder 07-13-2019 06:14 PM

One of the historical reasons as to why you don't see a lot of people wear purple is because such colors and fabrics were mostly accessible to the nobility or wealthy classes in premodern times. Plain, monochrome colors are the norm nowadays to give the impression that one is serious and professional, as well as that they are easier to maintain. Purple and pink were also in style in the 80s and 90s, and many still wear those colors today.

Nonsense. You don't have to go more than the first 15 issues or so into Mirage (i.e., the source material) to have Donnie being lovestruck over an alien woman.

In fact, an argument could be made that he's the first Turtle to actually exhibit an actual attraction to... anyone.

Well, Peter said on his blog that it could also be interpreted as only mutual respect.

The problem is she isn't that well-known. Let her appear in a couple of cartoon episodes first, and give her an action figure.

IndigoErth 07-14-2019 09:23 AM

I assume we're talking Jhanna?

While in most cases I tend to feel that people read a lot into stuff that they want to be there, this one though...? Yeah, if you're clutching her braid and hanging onto the moment just a minute longer, guy there's no way you aren't swooning at least a little. :D :D

It's a shame she hasn't appeared more or at least got an actual arc in the 2003 series.

Maybe he had a brief attraction to her. Jhanna after all was a cool chick with fighting skills. :D

No, we're talking about Jennika

https://turtlepedia.fandom.com/wiki/Jennika

IndigoErth 07-14-2019 12:47 PM

Yes, I know she's the original topic, that it aught to get back to, but she wasn't the current discussion. (I mean Jhanna is an alien warrior, not a Turtle, so that's rather hard to mix up.)

Original TMNT Cartoon Fan 07-14-2019 03:48 PM

Sadly, we will get a lot of

Jennika was not in TMNT during the late-1980's and early-1990's. My childhood has been ruined?

But it shouldn't prevent anything.

IndigoErth 07-14-2019 05:46 PM

At this rate, since it's just PD and we're in an era with a cartoon that already said "screw it" to everything important... ya know what, so long as the boys are properly represented personalty/behavior-wise, what the hell, just throw in whoever you want; the new Turtle girl, Venus too so she's not just the token girl in the room, Usagi, Leatherhead, etc... :tlol: (But that would be one hell of a budget.)

Coola Yagami 07-14-2019 09:19 PM

The comic book fans barely know who Jennika is, let alone the casual fan. That's a big no. They'd sooner bring back 'Jennika' but call her Venus.

Donnie also gets kissed by Mae West in the Savanti Juliet arc, then after he passes out she complains about how she had just swapped "Turtle Spit" with him.

All the other turtles are confronted by Male figures.

Raph is confronted by Robert E. Howard (the author of Conan the Barbarian)

Michelangelo is ambushed by Bruce Lee

and Leonardo faces off against his namesake Leonardo Da Vinci
