If You Could Snap Your Fingers and Eliminate Any Species on Earth, What Would It Be?

If you could snap your fingers (clap your hands, wave a magic wand, what have you) and eliminate anything on earth, what would you pick and why?

I ask because I'm dealing with a flea infestation in my apartment right now thanks to my dog and I'm cursing every single last one of these jumpy motherf#ckers.

Cockroaches and mosquitoes would be my next two picks. I'm ready for fall so all the bugs will DIE :x

snake 09-21-2017 07:22 PM

None, because I would probably end up f*cking the ecosystem.

Spike Spiegel 09-21-2017 07:23 PM

I can't stand houseflies. Any flying, buzzing insects, really.

Autbot_Benz 09-21-2017 07:26 PM

Id eliminate the SJW's mosquitoes and flies

Prowler 09-21-2017 07:27 PM

Flies
Rats
Roaches
Pigeons
Wasps

...well this would probably mess the ecosystem a bit, but come on now, most people would get rid of most of these if they had the ability to do so. Don't deny it :tlol:

FredWolfLeonardo 09-21-2017 07:27 PM

None, I think it would be immoral to do so.

ProphetofGanja 09-21-2017 07:34 PM

Undeniably, eliminating any entire species in the blink of any eye would have a significant effect on the environment... but f#ck the environment, I'm part of the motherf#cking environment, if the environment can effect ME then I can effect IT!!!

:lol::lol: I kid, but seriously, f#ck pestilential bugs, am I right??

plastroncafe 09-21-2017 07:47 PM

Hypothetically?

I could be down for getting rid of mosquitoes.
Especially the specific species that harbors the Malaria bug.

We've eradicated polio, so...not really seeing this as much different.

Like, shark-sharks?

https://sharkopedia.discovery.com/wp...2a-550x350.jpg

Real ass sharks?

They are probably the singular thing I fear most in this world but I wouldn't want to see them go. They're so perfectly adapted to their environment and they really won't bother you if you understand how they operate and give them space.

But like used car dealer-type sharks? Yeah, f#ck 'em.

Ocean Sunfish...they basically do absolutely nothing for anyone or anything. Literally. They're inedible to most predators, they basically do absolutely nothing but float around and lay waaaaaay more eggs than they logically should as Nature's Most Useless Animalâ„¢. They pretty much just fill space.

IndigoErth 09-21-2017 08:07 PM

Since you guys have some of the definite choices covered, I'm gonna go with other, sometimes more sinister culprits (who I'm just going to say count as obscure forms of life in some way)...

Good bye viruses.

Bye rhinovirus (I will remember you not fondly via my mini plush Giant Microbes). Bye flu, HIV, and others.

While some critters we don't like might still somehow serve a purpose, it's hard to see how viruses serve any that isn't only self serving. (If any can be beneficial in some way, well they can remain cultivated in a lab...)

I will come to defend the Sunfish!
Because without it, we would never have gotten this:

The single most Masshole thing I've ever seen.
Bask in its glory!

IndigoErth 09-21-2017 08:19 PM

 He needs to get together the guy crying over rainbows. They'd get along great.

Poor sunfish.... At least they don't want to eat or hurt us.

Utrommaniac 09-21-2017 08:21 PM

Baby whales do not deserve to be mistaken for sunfish!

Bravo on the rhinovirus, though...bravo.

Us, I guess.

I came to this thread expecting someone to answer "humanity".

And I was not disappointed. :tlol:

ProactiveMan 09-22-2017 04:19 AM

Mosquitoes would be hard to overlook... maybe heart worm, flesh eating bacteria, or that fish that swims up your pee-hole.

AT-Man 09-22-2017 05:55 AM

Ticks, of course. No contest. F*ck ticks.

Candy Kappa 09-22-2017 06:07 AM

too much responsibility... So many species are connected to each other.

But, I'd love to get rid of ticks without ruining any natural balance. They carry disease, get on my dog all the time and other people's pets and livestock, I live in tick country. I've only been bitten twice but it's really stressful.

BubblyShell22 09-22-2017 06:29 AM

Ticks, poisonous spiders, poisonous snakes, mosquitoes that carry West Nile, wasps, and yellow jackets. I'm fine with sweat bees, but I hate yellow jackets!

plastroncafe 09-22-2017 08:15 AM

You're in luck I'm pretty sure there are no poisonous snakes or spiders.
Venomous snakes and spiders on the other hand...

Andrew NDB 09-22-2017 09:19 AM

If I had a button that could wipe out most/all humans... I wouldn't do it, but I'd sure think long and hard about it.

Including yourself?

Splinter the boss 09-22-2017 01:05 PM

Insects. They're just pests, I'd want them gone.

Utrommaniac 09-22-2017 01:49 PM

Well, say bye to life as you know it because it would be gone in days without insects.

I'd be willing to be part of a 10% survival lottery, same as everybody else. If we were going down that road.

MsMarvelDuckie 09-22-2017 03:00 PM

I think I'm with Indigo- if I were to wipe out anything it would be viruses. They are parasites by nature which are wholy self-serving and have little useful place in the ecosystem. Think of all the diseases that would instantly be cured.....

Otherwise, none. Every creare great and small has a place. Even flies and mosquitos. Birds and other animals eat them. Would hate to see the lovely tree frogs dragonflies and flycatchers go.....

Whatever. You know that's what I meant. But nitpick all you want since you have nothing else better to do.

Gin Rummy 09-23-2017 06:49 PM

When I was young we had a couple dogs that got fleas. The house ended up being totally infested! It took over a month to eliminate those little monsters! To this Day I'm terrified of those little bloodsuckers!

If they were to disappear off the face of the Earth I would be pretty happy.
