Issue #43, Tales, Valentine special.

So is no one going to answer my question?

Sorry! I didn't realize there was something unanswered.

I got a question since I don't feel like re-reading. Is the building the survivor we follow through out "City At War" is staying in re-built on top of the sex shop that got destroyed?
And here's where I give a lame answer, because I really can't say for sure. It doesn't seem likely, though.

I don't know if this has been asked or not, but are all the stories in Turtle Soup (both the original and the 4 issues of Vol. 2) meant to take place in Mirage canon?

I recently re-read them and with the exception of a few odd stories used for gags, the more serious ones fit in with the Mirage universe. Has anything been said on which ones are important?

Dorkfish 11-20-2007 07:01 PM

I saw on a Japanese fansite, a page from a UK Fast Forward comic. Anyone heard anything about this? The art was kind of interesting. Where can it be found? It is a UK exclusive, etc?

See here and here.

TMNT Comic magazine in the UK features these brand new stories.

I don't think it's been specifically said which of the short stories are "canon," but you know what I honestly think? If you like a story, make it part of your own personal canon and don't worry about what Mirage says.

Question about the old TMNT Magazine.

When I still had it, I remember a story of the origin of Chu Hsi as the Warrior Dragon. Then in TMNT Adventures, it seems like they kind of did it again. Is the original TMNT Magazine story non-canon, or was it kind of a sidestory? I don't remember now.

Roseangelo 11-23-2007 08:55 AM

I would never ever consider the TMNT magazine comics to have any connection to the Archie Universe, or any other Universe. Even if they share common characters, each is just a simple, stand-alone story.

And see my previous answer about canon. You guys are seriously too concerned about that.

You're probably right, though as a kid I very much saw the mag as an extension of the Archies. Though... that's really the only story I remember, the Warrior Dragon bit.

In the Usagi TMNT crossover from Usagi Volume 2*Published by Mirage* it says Leo had met Usagi 3 times prior to that. I on;y have 1 in Usagi issue #10, what are the other 2?

There's a story in the Shell Shock TPB called "The Treaty" - I believe the third tale is unaccounted for.

Scandia 11-24-2007 05:28 AM

There's a Turtle Soup story called "Turtle Soup and Rabbit Stew" featuring Usagi. Would that be it then?

Spitfire 11-24-2007 06:25 PM

I don't buy Trades but I have Turtle Soup, I just haven't read it in awhile. Thanks!

Actually, all three encounters prior to "Shades of Green" are accounted for.

Turtle Soup (one-shot): "Turtle Soup and Rabbit Stew"

Usagi Yojimbo (vol. 1) #10: "The Crossing"

Shell Shock: "The Treaty"

I thought they were. But now the tale in Shell Shock, as with practically all of Shell Shock, wasn't that tale originally printed somewhere else? I'm curious where.

I have a feeling it might have been in an issue of Usagi Yojimbo, since it's certainly not in any of my TMNT comics, and I have practically a complete collection.

Guess we'd need an Usagi expert to answer that one.

Slap-Happy 11-25-2007 03:12 PM

Can someone scan a page of the first comics color graphic Novels?

Sparvid 11-30-2007 12:49 PM

As far as I can tell, the original, never-before-seen, stories in Shell Shock are:

"Bottoming Out"
"Junkman"
"Meanwhile... 1,000,000 B.C."
"The Treaty"
"O Deed"
"Splinter in the Eye of God?"
And that jokey parody thing.

The Treaty has apparently never been reprinted in any of the Usagi collections either.

Oh, and if you're not picky about original black and white vs. color, there were four graphic novels that collected TMNT 1-11 + Leonardo in color. That's how I got a hold of those issues, and they tend to be easier to find than the one big Volume 1 book. It would be great if they'd reprint that trade, but it looks like you could be waiting a while that way.

I made my first Tales of the TMNT issue purchase last week. What exactly is the deal with future Raphael? Have they told stories about the TMNT in the future before? Is this latest issue based on prior future-TMNT stories?

LEOTMNT 12-09-2007 05:53 PM
