MrPliggins' Collection

A few have asked me to share some pics of my collection. I have some free time lately, so why not?
My collection is pretty focused, and not very large. It's mostly comic-related items, very few toys/figures.
Also, there really is no order, rhyme or reason to these pics!

Scat #1, a pre-TMNT publication featuring an early Laird few-page comic story:

Upperground #1, a 1985 publication with a Laird Leonardo pin-up (already signed when bought):

Original page from TMNT/Creed

A page from TMNT Adventures. A gift from Ryan Brown

Merchandise before 1987 Cartoon, part one
These are items released before the original cartoon was made, usually only by mail order in the back of the Mirage comics. I'm missing only 3 items to complete my collection. Please let me know if you have them for sale.

T-shirt Iron-Ons (1984-1986).
These were the very first non-comic book TMNT merchandise. They were first advertised in TMNT#1, 2nd printing, on the inside back cover. There were two sets released throughout the years of 1984-1986.

Set 1 (1984) (Missing T4 and T6)

Set 2 (1985-1986) (set complete). The earliest I've found an ad for the second set is Fugitoid #1 which is from 1985, but they continued to be advertised in Mirage comics throughout 1986.
The second set featured a redesign of every design from the first set, besides the Shredder design, which remained the same (as far as I can tell), and also added one more: The Fugitoid!

additional iron-ons:
Edit: SOLD I also have these 2 1984 iron-ons for sale which are signed by Kevin Eastman.

Dark Horse Miniatures (1985-1987).
These were offered through mail order in the comics, and I think specialty gaming stores carried them too. I'm trying to collect all 24 packaging variations. Right now I have 23 of them and I'm missing only one.

1st style packaging consisted of one set, 142 TMNT. It was a baggie stapled to a piece of paper. This is the best condition packaging I've ever been able to find for this set. It looks brand new, as if it was made yesterday.

166 Splinter, Shredder, 4 Mousers
173 Fugitoid, Casey Jones, Triceraton
174 Four Foot Soldiers
175 Two Triceratons with Flying Harness
176 TMNT with Energy Weapons

Thanks for the kind words guys! It's cool to see it all in one place, as most of it is not displayed. Here are a few more things:

Leatherhead by Matt Roach, mid-'90s. Ran into Ryan Brown at the con, so he signed it too

Poster from Comicfest '93 Philadelphia, 11x17, signed by all Mirage attendees. This is where I bought that one CAW piece from Lawson

Leo and Black Cat 11x17 print by Michael Dooney with a sketch

Some 11x17 prints from a recent convention, not sure who the artist is but they are signed by him/her

Here is a set of cool Eric Talbot prints I bought from him at a '94 Philly convention. They aren't TMNT, but I've never seen them anywhere else so I thought they'd be cool to share. They are roughly 11x16

Very cool stuff - I've always wanted to get into collecting original art, but I never see anything that I MUST have (that my wife will let me splurge on, anyway)...

I hear you..lucky I got most of the art long ago when they were relatively cheap. I think the Chris Allan and CAW pages were about $30 each at the time.

Yeah, Ryan was a local to my area. I ran into him a few times at the local flea market too.

Animation Cels:
At the moment I only collect animation cels from the first season of the 1987 cartoon. Here's what I've collected. All of them have reproduction backgrounds, some accurate, some not:

Ep 1, Turtle Tracks:
Alas, I've only been able to find one cel from episode 1:
http://i65.tinypic.com/2ahd1tc.png

Ep 5, Shredder & Splintered:
These cels almost tell the story. My goal is to find a cel from every major character of the episode. April, Bebop and Shredder are so hard to spot!

For this one, I digitally repainted the correct background and the Shredder overlay:
