It's easy to scoop Jyn Erso in there, given the times. And in some ways it's true that she's another token character during the "Cultural Civil War" of America.
But she's also given decent motivation, and is a little more likeable than her cinematic contemporaries maybe because of elements such as that she loves her Dad in a way that is humanizing, or has a mission in the film that brings her to partner with people as opposed to falsely being better than them. So far, Rogue One was best "cineplex Star Wars" that Disney has produced.
