7. After Michelangelo first arrives on Dr. Lesseau's island, Raphael says that he can't watch Wild Kingdom, which is an actual TV show that features wildlife and nature.
8. After Dr. Lesseau has the Turtles captured in their cells, he says "Eeny, meeny, mighty moe, catch a turtle, watch him go", a spoof of the nursery rhyme "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe."
9. Dr. Goodfellow is named after Jane Goodall, famous for studying chimpanzees.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Raphael says "Don't you just love the way he delivers those noble speeches" after Leonardo tells Dr. Lesseau that he's wasting his time.

4. After Dr. Lesseau's bull grabs Donatello, he says that there's too much violence on television already.
5. (See Pop cultural reference No. 3) Michelangelo says that he waited the whole show to say that.
