Well, as far as ideas... what interests you? Fiction or nonfiction? Science fiction? Fantasy? Mystery? Thriller? Horror?
I'd say start by picking a few distinct genres. Also, watch some of your favorite movies... then sit back and critically review them in your mind. Why are these your favorite movies? What themes are common? What character types? What draws you to these stories? (You can, of course, do the same with books, or TV shows, or comics... story medium of your choice.)
