I wouldn't say it's better than a cure because there's a very good reason why she uses her snake form as a last resort move. She basically goes feral when she mutates and then there's also the pain involved in her mutation itself. You can see it in "City at war" when she transforms to help Leo fight Tiger Claw, she's seen convulsing and making noises as if she's about to retch.
