The 2017 FCBD issue is both better and worse than the 2015 FCBD issue; the story progression is much better, with Hakk-R (badass new enemy!) and Fugitoid being brought into the narrative... but worse with the recap.
In 2015, the Turtles have suffered a major loss and are reeling from it. A bit of introspection makes sense there--thinking back over how they got to such a horrible point, what could they have done differently, etc. But 2017... man, that was clunkier than a junkyard.  |
yeah, i definitely agree with your summation.
the original content of the 2017 FCBD issue had so much going for it.
but that recap was pretty awful!
...so forced and unnatural. felt like one of those 'flashback' episodes that all TV sitcoms feel they need to do.
