So at this point I'm not sure what is being bridged unless it isn't about the present arc at this point in time.
Maybe it's more of a prequel bridging past and present...? I mean, those last few eps finally hinted, but only just barely, at Draxum's past that got him to this point. As well has Mayhem's involvement and whoever those Wizard of Oz talking heads were.
