Yeah, youtube was more of a community before and even if it was filled with angry game reviews at least you knew everyone who was making videos back then was not to make a quick buck online since there weren't really monetized videos and even later when only a select few were youtube partners the majority who did it, was because it was for everyone. All videos are so click baity now and these youtube celebrities feel like they are"someone"

Yeah, also, back in 2006-2007, not everyone carried around a phone with a good quality camera in it. Smartphones weren't something everyone owned at the time.
I guess it becoming a business was something eventual and I cant' blame people for trying to make money off youtube.
On the other hand, youtube became a better place to watch news videos and follow companies' news and announcements throughout the years.
