That's because there's no way to apologize at this point. He's spent years dodging these questions and actively trying to cover them up with the help of his manager. His "apology" rings totally hollow because his
actions prove what his real priorities are: to protect himself and let his victims live with the consequences of his actions.
If he meant what he said, he would have said it
years ago when the questions started. That says it all.
