Episode 111: Michelangelo Meets Bugman Again
Written by: David Wise

Voice Cast:
Cam Clarke: Leonardo, Professor Higginbottom
Townsend Coleman: Michelangelo, Splinter, Vernon Fenwick, Jerry Spiegel/The Swatter
Jennifer Darling: Irma Langinstein, Juliet Schmooze's secretary
Pat Fraley: Burne Thompson, Short Criminal, Police Officer
Dan Gilvezan: Brick Bradley/Bugman
Barry Gordon: Donatello
Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
Tress MacNeille: Juliet Schmooze, Lady with green bow
Rob Paulsen: Raphael
Unknown Voice Actor: News Vendor, Tall Criminal

Mistakes:
1. In April's report at the shopping mall she says that the skies are clear, though they are actually partly cloudy.
2. In a closeup shot of the Entire State Building's elevator up/down buttons, they are shown with a grey outline and orangish red buttons, but in the next shot as Swatter enters the elevator, both the up/down buttons and outline are gold.
3. After the Turtles return to the Lair, Donatello's "D" is missing in the first shot inside the Lair.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
1. Michelangelo says "Cowabunga" as he launches his grappling hook at two criminals in order to save Jerry Spiegel.
2. Michelangelo says "holy guacamole" after his phone call with Juliet.
3. When Donatello speaks to Swatter on the roof of the skyscraper, he refers to Shredhead about him ripping off his costume.
3. Michelangelo calls Brick Bradley a wimped-out crumb in the Turtle Van.

Pizza References:
1. Michelangelo says that Jerry Spiegel is as slippery as a greasy pepperoni (referring to a pizza) after the criminals are captured.
2. Irma warns Michelangelo that if Brick Bradley does a comic and finds out about his favorite pizza place, the bad guys will be after the Turtles.
3. One of the questions that Swatter asks the Turtles (minus Michelangelo) on the roof is their favorite things to put on pizza.
4. Vinnie's Pizza billboard next to the Channel 6 building is visible.
5. The Turtles say "Turtle Power" as they avenge on Swatter on top of the skyscraper.

Pop Culture References:
1. Jerry Speigel is a parody of Superman creator Jerry Seigel.
2. When Raphael checks out the titles at the comic book stand that Michelangelo is browsing, one of the titles is the "Teen Twinkies", a parody of the Teen Titans.
3. One of the buildings is named the Entire State Building, a parody of the Empire State Building.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Swatter says that being a bad guy is such fun at the end of his first scene.
2. Right before the second commercial break, Michelangelo looks straight at the screen saying that Brick Bradley picked a bad time to find inner peace.
3. In the Turtle Van, Michelangelo says "Who's supposed to being ticked off? Him (Brick Bradley) or me?"
4. Leonardo: "Can you imagine anyone publishing a comic book about us?"
Raphael: "That has got to be the dumbest idea I have ever heard."
Michelangelo: "You are right dude. The entire concept is multo bizarro." Then, Michelangelo grabs a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book under the bed and says "come on dudes, you read it too."

Wacky Inventions:
1. Donatello's Sewer Intruder alert system
2. Swatter's Hypno Ray
3. The Entire State Building's Transmitting Equipment

Kidnappings:
Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael are stuck to a thick wall at the top of the Entire State Building by Swatter.

Notables:
1. Final appearance of Brick Bradley/Bugman.
2. Swatter, Jerry Spiegel's alter ego, is a Shredder spoof. Since he is voiced by Townsend Coleman, his voice sounds similar to Shredder's during the later portion of Season 7.
3. This is notable for being the first non-Shredder episode written by David Wise and also due to the fact that it aired on CBS during the first half hour when Shredder episodes would normally air.
4. Only episode in which Vernon is voiced by Townsend Coleman.
5. A flashback clip from the episode "Michelangelo Meets Bugman" is used when Michelangelo talks to Raphael about Bugman's origin.
6. Shredder and Krang is mentioned in this episode by Michelangelo.

Pat Fraley: Krang
Barry Gordon: Donatello, Bebop
Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Joe Junkee/Joey Eyeball
Peter Renaday: Splinter, Tropotron Labs Security Guard

Mistakes:
1. The mutagen vat is full after Splinter released its contents on Shredder and Krang earlier in the episode.
2. When Shredder and mutants escabe the lab after the Turtles avenge on them, a small flap, which appears to be the door to the Transport Module and its seat appear on the side of the Module closest to the drill.
3. In this episode and Landlord of the Flies, Krang has dark purple corneas.
4. Ted Pedersen's last name is incorrectly spelled "Pederson" on the written by credit.
5. Raphael, Leonardo, and Donatello's belt initials are colored like they were in Season 2 (grey outline, white letters) when April contacts them while Donatello is holding an issue of Genius Quarterly.
6. April says "So long fellas" in Irma's voice when the Turtles prepare to travel to the Technodrome.
7. Donatello's belt initial has its Season 2 colors when he says that the Portable Portal Generator's power is running out.
8. In Irma's apartment, Michelangelo takes several bites of a slice of pizza, but the pizza appears to have not taken any bites.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
1. The Turtles say "Turtle Power" as they go into Tropotron Labs.
2. Shredder (voiced by Jim Cummings) says "quick you idiots" to Rocksteady and Bebop as they retreat to the Module.
3. April says "put me down you big glub of garbage" when Muckman grabs her.
4. April calls Shredder a "real big fibber" while she's tied up in the warehouse.
5. Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo say "Turtle Power" as they leave Donatello's Lab in search of April and Irma. They again say "Turtle Power" as they pop out of the sewer cover where Donatello is.
6. Michelangelo says "Cowabunga" as the Turtles and Muckman walk through the portal.
7. The Turtles and Muckman say "Turtle Power" as they enter into the Technodrome as they step out of the portal.
8. Leonardo says "Let's make Turtle Tracks" after a laser destroys Donatello's bo.
9. Michelangelo says "Cowabunga" as the Turtles and Muckman jump through the portal back into the Turtles' Lair.

Pizza References:
1. Michelangelo asks Donatello if the X7 Compound can be used as pizza toppings.
2. A piece of pizza is shown next to Donatello's computer in his lab.
3. Michelangelo would rather pour Muckman's DNA samples over pizza.
4. A pizza is shown on the table of Irma's apartment and Irma says "two dozen pizzas and I'm the hostess with the mostess." Michelangelo also holds and eats a slice of pizza (See Mistake No. 8 )

Pop Culture References:
1. Donatello tells some destroyed Foot Soldiers that they were supposed to limbo, a Trinidadian dance that involves bending backwards under a pole.
2. Michelangelo makes a baseball reference as Rocksteady and Bebop slide through a door saying "Nice slide dudes, but you're out!"

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Garson and Joe say that these are some pretty neat special effects after the X7 Mutagen causes them to start mutating.
2. After Shredder says "I shall not fail", Bebop says "how man times have I heard that before" and Rocksteady says "What number episode is this?"
3. When Raphael sees that Muckman and Joe Eyeball are capturing April, Raphael says "Just what this show needs, more mutants."
4. Joe Eyeball says that an abandoned warehouse works as a good hideout an any other story.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Krang's Door Opening Gizmo
2. Mutagen Tracker
3. The Compound X7 Mutagen
4. Krang's Spectro Cathode Analyzer

Kidnappings:
1. Muckman and Joey Eyeball grab April and Irma, tie them up, and hold them hostage on two chairs in an abandoned warehouse.
2. Rocksteady ties up Splinter in the alley where Shredder, Bebop, Muckman and Joey Eyeball are holding April and Irma hostage. Splinter is then taken to the Technodrome and is hanging above a mutagen vat.

Notables:
*1. When Shredder and his mutants head back to the Transport Module, some stock dialogue voiced by Jim Cummings recorded for another episode is heard. This reveals that this episode was aired out of order with regards to when the episodes of Season 5 were recorded.
2. Michelangelo is shown holding a pair of nunchucks in the shot of the Turtles in the alley where Muckman, Joe Eyeball, April and Irma.
3. Not counting the Vacation in Europe, final appearance of the Shredder's theme background music.
4. A flashback clip of Rocksteady and Bebop unleashing the X7 Mutagen is shown on Tropotron's instant replay footage.
5. Final appearance of Splinter inside the Technodrome.
