Episode 127: Rock Around the Block
Written by: David Wise

Voice Cast:
James Avery: Shredder
Cam Clarke: Leonardo, Rocksteady
Townsend Coleman: Michelangelo
Pat Fraley: Krang
Barry Gordon: Donatello, Bebop
Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Self-Help Guru
Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick, General Traag, Space Station Guard

Mistakes:
1. When Splinter first appears, one of the yellow patches on Splinter's kimono on his left is missing. When we zoom out to a shot of both Splinter and Donatello, both of his patches are missing. The left patch is also missing when Splinter walks up to Donatello on the sofa near the end of the episode.
2. When Michelangelo launches his grappling hook to save April and her news van for the moment, he is colored like Donatello.
3. When April returns to the Channel 6 building in the Turtle Van, the word CHANNEL on the building is misspelled "CHANEL".

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
1. Shredder calls Bebop and Rocksteady imbeciles when they are playing Space Pilot.
2. At the beginning during ninja exercises, Raphael tells Michelangelo that he's cowered his last bunga.
3. April signs in her news report when she appears on a TV monitor in the Technodrome with "This is April O'Neil, Channel 6 News".
4. Shredder refers to Bebop and Rocksteady as cretins when they fight over a pile of comic books.
5. Krang refers to the Turtles as meddlesome reptiles as he walks over to open the portal to Dimension X.
6. Shredder calls Bebop and Rocksteady boneheads after they see a dinosaur fossil and get scared, and Bebop says "Mama".
7. The Turtles say "Go Green Machine" when they charge against Traag.
8. Donatello says "That was my favorite bo" after Tragg destroys it.
9. Traag calls the Turtles "foolish reptiles" after the Turtles fail to destroy him.
10. The Turtles say "Turtle Power" as they charge against the recharged rock monsters.
11. Krang says "Oh No" after the Technodrome falls into the ocean.

Pizza References:
1. Vinnie's Pizza billboard next to the Channel 6 building is visible.
2. Michelangelo says that it's pizza time after Traag escapes through the portal.
3. Michelangelo delivers two victory pizzas to the Turtles after they return home. Raphael throws one of the pizzas on Donatello's face at the very end of the episode.

Pop Culture References:
1. The episode title is in reference to the 1954 Bill Haley and his Comets song "Rock Around the Clock".
2. Splinter explains to Donatello Wu Wei, a Taoism concept about the art of doing without action.
3. The comic book "Captain Cow" may be in reference to the Captain America comic series.
4. Bebop tells a Space Station Guard that he didn't say "Mother May I", a children's game.
5. The game Space Pilot that Bebop and Rocksteady are playing is in reference to the 1978 video game Space Invaders.
6. Right before the Turtles enter the forklifts, Raphael describes the large rock monster as an overgrown Pet Rock, a toy fad of the mid-1970s.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. After Splinter explains Wu Wei, Michelangelo mentions that its pretty heavy philosophical stuff for a cartoon show.
2. Krang tells Shredder that they have to develop a story plot when April's report begins.
3. As Vernon does his stress control exercise, April says to the audience "I think he's finally found something he's good at."
4. Raphael says "Why didn't I just stay in bed this morning" when Traag repcharges the rock monsters.

Wacky Inventions:
1. The Rockolizer
2. Krang's Remote Control Device
3. The Rock Crushing Machine

Kidnappings:
Rocksteady and Bebop tie up the two space station guards and lock them in a hangar.

Notables:
1. First episode of Season 6.
2. First episode with the Fred Wolf Films logo.
3. For the rest of the run on CBS, there is only one new episode per week.
4. New background music debuts, and the episode titles change to an italic font, similar to what is shown on the closing credits from Season 4 onwards.
5. First appearance of the Technodrome under the ocean. The Technodrome in the Arctic would resurface in Leonardo is Missing later in this season when the episode aired out of order.
6. Only episode in which one Turtle holds a different Turtle's weapon; during ninja practice, Leonardo is seen holding one of Donatello's bo. When Splinter explains Wu Wei to Michelangelo, Raphael is also seen holding a bo.
7. Krang is seen in his bubble walker in this episode, and his android body is not seen.
8. Final physical appearance of the Natural History Museum.

9. When Shredder reaches the top step of City Hall's steps, the Turtles draw their weapons and say "Turtles Fight With Honor!"

5. Raphael makes a Demolition Derby reference after the supersized Android Body tosses a car.

2. Raphael says "When will I learn to keep my big beak shut" right before Krang's Android knocks him away.
3. When the mesmerized Shredder picks up his com-link and calls it a pager, he looks at the camera and says "Is it possible I'm a plumber?"

2. The Android Body's Ectoframe and Binary Transformation Circuit
