It's not good. At the very least I would expect toy lines to be less broad from this point on. Toys R Us tends to carry a bigger selection of toys than any other store. And with no other dedicated toy stores to pick up the slack, the more marginal items from lines may not be able to get enough retailer support to be viable. In terms of the TMNT, I'd say that those two awesome Sewer Lair and Underground City playsets that were shown at toy fair are starting to look unlikely.
I'm interested in what kind of blow this will mean for NECA in particular. It probably doesn't affect their TMNT offerings as the 1:4 scale figures were the only ones that they could sell through mass market retail anyway. But if TRU disappears I suspect a lot of their lines are going to come to an abrupt end.
