Episode 41: Casey Jones: Outlaw Hero
Written by: David Wise

Voice Cast:
James Avery: Shredder
Cam Clarke: Leonardo, Rocksteady, Man Sleeping on Bench in Park
Townsend Coleman: Michelangelo
Pat Fraley: Krang, Burne Thompson, Casey Jones, Second Sports Store Robber
Barry Gordon: Donatello, Bebop, Bakery Thief
Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Second Sports Store Robber
Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick

Mistakes:
None in this episode.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
Michelangelo says "Holy Guacamole!" when Casey Jones first lands right in front of him.

Pizza Reference:
Michelangelo is bummed that there is no pepperoni left to make pizza for breakfast.

Pop Culture References:
1. Casey says "The Martians are coming" when the Turtles try to convince him that they're not criminals, which is a take off on the phrase "The British are Coming" from the American Revolution.
2. Casey Jones uses various terms and expressions from the world of law, such as jawbreakers, nutcase, under arrest, and lawbreakers.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Right before the Rocksteady and Bebop reach the surface, Rocksteady says "Kids, we're trained professionals. Don't try this at home!"
2. Raphael mentions that some people are just so darn impatient upon sensing April calling the Turtles for help.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Krang's supersized Knucklehead
2. Krang's automatic machine controlling bug controllers and bugs
3. Donatello's Portatracker

Kidnapping:
Casey gets captured by Krang.

Notables:
1. First appearance of Casey Jones outside of the Mirage comics.
2. April is shown dressed in her pajamas in her bed.
3. April's trademark stock voice scream is used twice: right after the first commercial break, and again when the hair dryer blows her hair inside her Channel 6 office.

Episode 42: Mutagen Monster
Written by: Michael Edens & Mark Edens

Voice Cast:
James Avery: Shredder
Greg Berg: Donatello, Bebop*
Cam Clarke: Leonardo, Rocksteady
Townsend Coleman: Michelangelo
Jennifer Darling: Irma Langinstein
Pat Fraley: Krang
Renae Jacobs: April O’Neil
Rob Paulsen: Raphael
Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick

Mistakes:
1. The mutant bull was created by two bulls, but when the bulls are separated after Shredder loses of control of them, three bulls walk out.
2. After Raphael and Donatello lure the bull with the red tarp, Michelangelo is colored like Leonardo.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
1. Shredder calls Rocksteady and Bebop idiots as they fight over the switch. He then calls them mutant morons and miserable maggots after the two trains crash.
2. Shredder calls Rocksteady and Bebop incompetant wimps right before he speaks to the mutated bull.
3. *When Bebop, Rocksteady, and Shredder run from the Mutated bull, Bebop is heard saying "Mama" in Barry Gordon's voice.
4. Raphael says "Banzai!" as they fall and land onto the bull.
5. Shredder calls Rocksteady and Bebop bugbrains as they push the railcart down the railroad.
6. After Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady crash, Shredder refers to the TMNT as "meddling turtles" and calls Bebop and Rocksteady "overweight oafs".
7. When on the cheapskate, Michelangelo says "Cowabunga, with the accent on cow".
8. Shredder calls Bebop and idiot when Bebop appears confused on the receptor ring's controls.

Pizza References:
1. As Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael watch the TV, Michelangelo is bringing a pizza with mushrooms. Splinter describes it a deep dished pizza.
2. Leonardo tells the Turtles that they have to save Vernon or the mutated bull will squish him flatter than a pizza.

Pop Culture References:
1. The Turtles are watching "Shootout at the Cactus Corral" on the TV, which is a western. This influences the Turtles, especially Donatello and Michelangelo to talk like cowboys throughout this episode.
2. April mentions a couple of popular broadcasting terms in this episodes: "technical difficulties" and "split screen".
3. Rocksteady is shown holding a Wanted poster in the Technodrome scene about two-thirds into the episode.
4. Bebop spins the receptor ring like a hula hoop.
5. Michelangelo compares the Mutagen Monster to a cow, calling it a "Mootagen Monster".
6. After sliding through the hedge, Raphael says "Where's The Beef?", after the 1984 commercial.
7. Raphael tells April after being licked by the cow at the end that the spiked look (a popular '80s hairstyle) is in.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
When in Splinter's lair, Raphael says that he hopes that there isn't a joke coming up about a bunch of cows and the stable.

Wacky Inventions:
1. The university's atom smasher
2. Krang's receptor ring and remote control device

Notables:
1. Shredder's evilness is noted in that with the mutagen he doesn't want to destroy just the Turtles, but also Krang.
2. April's stock voice scream is heard after she says "nice horns" to the mutated bull.
