Exactly. It's like A Chinatown Ghost Story... it got a lot of hate because it rehashed an old storyline or people just didn't straight up get the joke. I however, loved the s**t out of it because I love the s**t out of Big Trouble in Little China. This episode was an homage/pastiche/parody of 70's and 80's slasher films, right down to the title ("Within the Woods" was the short film that begat The Evil Dead)

The part that struck me was when April's voice quivered a bit when she was describing what happened to Splinter in the cold open.
