Episode 168: Combat Land
Written by: David Wise

Voice Cast:
Cam Clarke: Leonardo, Stressbar's Nerd
Townsend Coleman: Michelangelo
Jennifer Darling: Irma Langinstein
Pat Fraley: Shogun Robot
Barry Gordon: Donatello, Black Knight Robot
Renae Jacobs: April O'Neil
Rob Paulsen: Raphael, Denton Nulcet
Peter Renaday: Vernon Fenwick
Unknown Voice Actor: Horatio Stressbar

Mistakes:
1. When Leonardo searches for Michelangelo alone, he's colored as Raphael.
2. Even though the Turtles' weapons were banned when they first entered Combat Land, their weapons are shown on their belts throughout parts of the remainder of the episode.
3. Leonardo grunted in Raphael's voice when he attacked the Shogun with his staff.
4. When Leonardo used his katana to destroy the robot's control unit, it looked like a safety katana.
5. Even though Medieval warriors carried broadswords in that era, Michelangelo took a katana into the Medieval zone.
6. While Donatello and Raphael fight the robots in the final battle in front of Irma and Vernon, Raphael becomes Leonardo.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
1. Donatello says "Cowabunga" as he and Leonardo lifts an awning during the battle in the center of Combat Land.
2. Michelangelo says "Cowabunga" as he tosses his own clone to a wall.

Pizza References:
1. Raphael asks Michelangelo if he has enough pizzas and videos at the start of the episode, and Donatello and Raphael are seen carrying about a dozen pizza boxes each.
2. After the Turtles return to the Lair, Donatello and Raphael are seen eating those pizzas.
3. Raphael figured that Michelangelo went striaght for the nearest pizza stand after the Turtles and April discover that Michelangelo is missing.
4. When Leonardo decides to relax after the Turtles return to the lair, a piece of pizza is visible on a plate on the table in front of the sofa.

Pop Culture References:
1. When Stressbar's Nerd says "Golden Mongoose" to open a door, this is in reference to the character from the mythological Indian epic Mahabharata.
2. After Irma says that the doors at Combat Land are voice activated, Michelangelo tells Irma to pump up the volume on her Channel 6 Newscam, refrencing a 1987 pop song by M/A/R/R/S.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
1. Raphael says that he always knew that this show was educational after Donatello explains what steam does to the city.
2. After a flashback scene of Donatello covering a Future Zone Robot with bucket is shown with Donatello explaining it, Raphael says that he just saw it in a flashback.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Future Zone Robot Motorcycle
2. Combat Land's Robots
3. Denton Nulcet's Duplicator

Kidnappings:
1. Michelangelo is kidnapped by the Black Knight and is glued to a wall in Denton Nulcet's lab where he is duplicated.
2. Irma and Vernon get locked into a room after getting captured by Future Zone robots.
3. Leonardo is kidnapped by a Michelangelo clone and taken to Denton Nuclet's lab.
4. Michelangelo uses his grappling hook to tie up Stressbar's nerds.

Notable:
Final appearance of the "enemy attack" background music.

Renae Jacobs: April O'Neil
Rob Paulsen: Raphael
Peter Renaday: Splinter, Vernon Fenwick, General Traag, Hairy Dimension X Alien, News Reporter
Unknown Voice Actor: The Great Chaarg

Mistakes:
1. Shredder and his mutants arrived outside the museum in an amphibious module, but when they escape, it's a Transport Module. Also, the back of the module spins, which isn't normal either.
2. As the Technodrome drives on its own towards the portal, it's tilted 45 degrees twice. Plus, the tank tracks don't even touch the ground as it moves.
3. When Rocksteady forces April, Vernon, and Irma to the window, Rocksteady's pants are seen when the shot shows the long way down.
4. Irma shoots Krang's android body, which shows damage, but as Krang Shredder, and his mutants escape, Krang's body is undamaged.
5. When Michelangelo tells Shredder to bring Leonardo and Raphael back to earth to fight them, their colors are switched.
6. Before Krang opened the portal to allow General Traag and his Rock Soldiers to Earth, he is seen standing next to Traag.
7. When Shredder, Rocksteady, and Bebop arrived at the museum, the Amphibious Module had no seats.
8. Donatello's bo strapping is brown when he uses the remote control to send the Technodrome to Dimension X.
9. The episode takes place during the day, but in the live report of April reporting at the Asian art museum, it is night.
10. Splinter's yellow left kimono patch is missing several times in this episode.
11. Krang's Android's hands are flesh colored when he and his Rock Soldiers march towards city hall.
12. Krang's Android hands are flesh colored when he stands in front of Burne and Vernon inside the Channel 6 building. Plus, the triangle above Krang is upside down, pointing upwards.
13. When April and Irma walk to the Channel 6 News Van, the center of the "6" on the left side is blue instead of red and white.

Catchphrase/Insult Countdown:
1. Michelangelo says Cowabunga as his swings on his grappling hook to knock down Rocksteady and Bebop at the art museum.
2. Shredder says "Destroy those wretched reptiles" while in battle with the Turtles at the art museum. Leonardo responds by calling Shredder Shredhead.
3. Shredder refers to the Turtles as wretched reptiles right before Bebop and Rocksteady shove them into Dimension X.
4. Shredder refers to the Turtles as accursed Turtles after they are shoved into Dimension X.
5. Michelangelo says "Holy guacamole" after he first sees the Great Chaarg.
6. Donatello calls Shredder Shredhead when he talks to him on the Transdimensional Communicator. Shredder responds by calling the Turtles miserable reptiles.
7. At the end of that same conversation, Raphael calls Shredder Shredhead and Shredder responds by calling the Turtles wretched reptiles.
8. The Turtles say "Turtle Power" as they return from Dimension X to fight Shredder.
9. Krang refers to all of the good guys as fools after Michelangelo, Donatello, April and Irma leave him stranded and head towards the Technodrome.
10. Irma calls Shredder Shredhead when she fires her gun and knocks one of the swords from him.
11. Krang says "Oh no" after the Technodrome enters Dimension X.

Pizza References:
1. Michelangelo is eating a slice of pizza as they are watching April's report at the art museum.
2. The pizza billboard next to the Channel 6 building is visible six times in this episode.
3. A clone of Krang turns into Michelangelo who says that he could go for a pizza after General Traag talks to him.

Pop Culture References:
1. After the news report with the space shuttle, Raphael says to Donatello that they've fallen for the old Double Jeopardy trick, which is both a criminal law and also the second round of the game show Jeopardy!
2. Weesel calls the Turtles pixies, a small flying creature in folklore as they exit his spaceship.

Fourth Wall Breaking Humor:
Raphael explains to the other Turtles the process of stopping the Technodrome by having all say out loud to break in, fight the Foot Soldiers, disconnect the power device, and escape with it as if had been done so many times in this series.

Wacky Inventions:
1. Weesel's Spaceship
2. The Sentinels Spaceships and Master Control Bunker
3. The Bunker's Transdimensional Communicator
4. Krang's Holographic Cloaking Device

Kidnappings:
1. The Turtles get cuffed up when Leonardo attempts to disconnect a power source in the Technodrome.
2. Zwerk gets handcuffed and put into slavery for The Great Chaarg.
3. Bebop and Rocksteady tie up April, Irma, and Vernon to seats inside the Channel 6 building.
4. Splinter ties up Rocksteady and Bebop in April's office as he comes to rescue the Channel 6 Crew.

Notables:
1. This is the last episode of Season 7 and the final one in which the sky is predominantly blue. It is also the final appearance of the second introductory sequence, the original theme song, the main battle theme, and the elevator shaft credits.
2. Final episode in which April wears her yellow jumpsuit.
3. Final episode in which Townsend Coleman voices Shredder.
4. Final episode in which Krang uses his Android body. He won't reappear in it again until Turtles Forever.
5. Final episode in which the Technodrome is under the ocean and on Earth, and the first time that it seriously threatens the city since "The Big Blow Out". It is also the first appearance in Dimension X since "My Brother, the Bad Guy" without counting the Vacation in Europe episodes and "April Gets in Dutch" when counting the European Vacation episodes for Season 7.

7. Final appearance of the Channel 6 News Van.
8. Final appearance of the original Channel 6 News Studio, April's Channel 6 office, and the Channel 6 lobby.
