I like how kids these days entirely miss the point of how super-heroes have always looked flamboyant on purpose. It's kind of always been the entire point of them having costumes.
"Look at that guy in the cape and mask and primary-colored spandex get-up. He looks ludicrous."
"He sure does."
"Any chance you got a good look at his face while he was punching our teeth in?"
"Honestly, I was too busy trying to figure out how I was gonna explain to the guys in holding that I got my ass kicked in by a nutjob in a cape."
"Yeah. This is pretty embarrassing. I think I'm bleeding internally, and I have no idea who did this to me. Damn it."
"I mean, we totally could have just shot him in the face, but-..."
"-But the fact a guy in a mask and a cape just jumped off a goddamn roof and started screaming at you sort of threw you off. I know. I know."
"I wish we killed him."
"I wish he'd killed the BOTH of us."
But yeah, they're supposed to look stupid. Which, in a roundabout way, makes them even more awesome.
