Because that's short-sighted. They're a HUGE chunk of the audience for those characters. We all did it. Sh*t, when you're like 10 and your parents control the TV, Ariel's seashells or Jasmine's bare midriff are about as good as you're gonna get. Stuff like that can be absolutely life-changing, depending on how sheltered you are/were.
I don't think the ones making these creative decisions understand how stuff works.

Idk about that but I mean, people have to start admitting that breasts exist.
We're gonna come to a generation eventually when girls will start freaking out the day theirs come in because boobs have stopped appearing on all media.
