Considering how much the Disney version borrowed from the 1946 La Belle et la Bête by Jean Cocteau, it would have been pretty snazzy if they used the original Beast designs Cocteau had intended for the Beast to look like.
But, I'd imagine they are gonna live-action up the animated design, which is a pretty good design.
