I'unno. All super-hero stories are based in eternal, ceaseless conflict by definition. "Fun" isn't what I expect from the genre.
I mean, they are fun, but I've never picked up a super-hero comic expecting to laugh much, or feel too "uplifted". I pretty much get what I expect, what with all the Tragic Origins and All Problems Need To Be Solved With Violence that are inherent in the very fabric and all.
Except, of course, for the obvious exception of Fight-Man, aka "Bill & Ted's Favorite Super-Hero". THAT book, was a riot. Sadly, it was only a one-shot... but "One Shot Is All He Needs!"
Although literally the whole world hated Fight-Man and wanted him dead, so while it was definitely funny I can't say it was at all uplifting. Shucks!
