I know they've been discussed a fair bit, but I can't remember if it was in their own thread or not. They're based on a piece of fan art that was drawn specifically for the purpose of making statues, as far as I know. According to Good Smile, if they sell well, we might get nendoroids, which would be
amazing, but I don't see these selling all too well 'cause the designs are kinda wack.
