The 1994 Jungle Book strayed even further from Kipling's books than the 67 film. Yet its called "Rudyard Kiplings: The Jungle Book".
Anyways back on topic, I hope this isn't a shot for shot remake. The Lion King was first created by Disney, and I think it has alot of potential to be done in a new way. I love the first film, but I would like to see somethings fixed in the new film, such as not making Scar lose his sense of class/dignity when he becomes king and better conveying the lesson of the film which is to face up to your past.
