That's my wild guess, anyway. In this scenario, It's a matter of hoping for the right director to join the project and take control.
At this point I think a TMNT film can only be made well if they get a screenwriter who is familiar with Mirage/IDW/2003 cartoon/anything that is more serious in tone.
