You can at least watch the first episode or two to see what the show is like. Clocking out at some character art before ever watching it is rather strange to me. The way the designs are it'll probably look good with backgrounds and in motion.
Of course the writing is most important, depends the type of stories and if the Turtles characters and interactions are well done.
