I feel like that with Dead Sara. If music were all about talent and merit, they'd have been one of the biggest rock bands of the last decade, easily. But because they're a female-led rock act that doesn't try and push sex appeal (even though Siouxsie Medley is a goddamn smokeshow and often goes onstage barely-dressed, it's more about how she gets all hot and sweaty due to her hyper-aggressive guitar playing and merely wants to be comfortable, more than it does with trying to "Be Sexy"), they don't get a push and can't keep a record label interested.
It's a shame. Everything "music" that's been pushed on the masses for the last 10+ years is garbage, but there's a lot of good acts out there who fly under the radar simply because they refuse to play the game.
