Well... corruption has always been prevalent in human history, along with the self-serving intentions behind them. Corruption of course waxes and wanes, but it will never fully be removed or disappear, otherwise it would be expecting society to become a utopia of sorts.
Don't place your personal satisfaction on these political and social events, as FredWolfLeonardo has stated, the world won't be affected by your worrying. Place your primary personal satisfaction on improving yourself, and your integrity in your sphere of influence.
