The "We waited too long to release it, that's why it didn't do better numbers" spin once it finally comes out and nobody cares about it is gonna be glorious and hilarious.
They ought'a just call it "Contractual Obligations: The Movie". It's like when Davy Jones and Mickey Dolenz put out a record as "The Monkees" in the early-70s, just the two of them, because they owed one more record to their label and Peter and Mike already quit. Nobody cared, and it did horrible business, and even they hated it. BUT HEY, contracts are contracts, so you gotta put SOMETHING out.
That's exactly what this movie is.
