News of the Weird

I propose a sticky for this topic....as a collection place for all the random things that get posted in this section.

I'll start:

Shocking

Quote:
CRALEY, Pa. -- Police said a 29-year-old York County woman is dead after her husband apparently shocked her with an electric cord to stimulate her during sex.

Officials said 37-year-old Toby Taylor was jailed Thursday in lieu of $100,000 bail on involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges.

Authorities said Kirsten Taylor was found unconscious Wednesday night at their Lower Windsor Township home. She was taken to York Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police charging documents said Toby Taylor first said his wife was shocked by a hair dryer. But police said when burns were found, he told them he had clipped a cord to his wife and plugged it into an electric strip three or four times.

York County Coroner Barry Bloss called it a case of "bizarre sex" and said, "Even if you did it before, you have to know you could kill someone."

The Winner

Quote:
ELLSWORTH, Maine (AP) -- His lottery ticket was a $1,000 winner, but police have seized it saying it was bought with proceeds from an illegal drug sale.

A judge will decide whether a man will keep a $1,000 lottery ticket police say was bought with drug money.

Michael David, who had been staying at an Ellsworth motel, sold four 10-milligram methadone pills for $15 each last week, Police Chief John Deleo said.

He then went to a convenience store and bought lottery tickets and other merchandise and went back to his motel room, where he was busted.

"I guess it will be up to a judge to decide, but it's in our possession right now as proceeds from a drug transaction," Deleo said of the winning ticket.

David, 46, remained in custody Monday in the Hancock County Jail on drug trafficking charges. An official at the jail said David was not available

1.) I'm not going to sticky a general news thread.

2.) I'm not going to sticky a thread that spells "weird" wrong.

Sorry, I'm just tired of all the news threads. Every time someone gets a puppy or bought some groceries, there has to be a news thread about it. Perhaps you could wait until some real news is released.

I think this is a cool idea, Katie. All the whacked-out topics people find can be posted in one thread, thereby cleaning up this section a little. I vote for a sticky, making it a total of.... 2. Well, it's a start.

Wow. Vibrators seem a little less taboo now.

Wow....

http://gizmodo.com/5975787/woman-dri...s-to-gps-error

I went to school with a girl who drove half way across state in the wrong direction on her way to a basketball game, but this really takes the cake.

I was distracted, so I kept driving. I saw all kinds of traffic signs, first in French, then German and finally in Croatian, but I kept driving because I was distracted. Suddenly I appeared in Zagreb and I realized I wasn't in Belgium anymore.

This is ridiculous, she was "distracted". I've missed my bus stop once before because of being distracted but I got off at the next stop. How could anyone possibly drive over 800 miles more than they were suppose to? how could anyone not realise hang on 90 miles should only take a couple of hours, not a couple of days? Insane!

Short Lived TV Career

NORTH DAKOTA: A new anchor for an NBC station had his career short, after cursing on the air, which he thoiught he was off the air.

In one of my Kermit Schafer Bloopers books, he mentions a radio announcer who lost his job after three words. He was suppose to say "The Hit Show". But he blooped it saying (you figure it out).

DALLAS: After the reason football scandals over child & spouse abuse, a tavern has banned NFL games from being televised @ that establishment.

At least there's no bar that bans all sports tv, except for PBA bowling (LOL)!
