So it turns out the PC version WAS delayed for DRM. There isn't even a mention of the DRM on the Steam page even though games with it are required to mention it. Worst yet, the game can't be played offline, you need a constant internet connection to play it. Also, the same bugs and glitches from the console versions are in the PC version so all that talk about "optimization" issues was a lie and worse Sega didn't notify it's consumers about the DRM until well after many of it's customers purchased it.

How is it that even when Sega has a good game on their hands, one with glowing reviews and praise that Sega hasn't had in years, they seem to go out of their way to screw it up. Thankfully they will allegedly fix the always online issue.

Like you, we've noticed an error in the Steam store not mentioning the DRM for Sonic Mania.

We're fixing that now.

Sonic Mania is intended to be played offline and we're investigating reports on that.

We're also investigating other issues like controller support, these are all PC specific things that Christian and the team have been working on these last few weeks

It seems my hopes for an idea of a Sonic SATAM type game was realized with Forces. Eggman taking over. Sonic having to form a team. A possible create-a-character, it's all there. If I find a quote of that, I'll edit it in.

Outside that, I am trying to play other Sonic games since the most recent one I played was Generations. Don't have the money for Lost World, Fire and Ice, or Shattered Crystal on the 3DS (I'd honestly pass anyways).

Also, although it'll be a while before I play it, I love the Sonic Mania soundtrack so far from what I heard.

Does anyone else find the 40 dollar price tag alarming? I mean, recent Sonic games never really felt worth the full price tag, but for a Sonic game starring 3 protagonists, what's up? It's like Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces together make up a full product. They've been hyping this game like it's some sort of comeback for Sonic and it doesn't warrant the 60 dollar price tag? I'm not complaining, but I just fear for the length and quality of the product, well, even more so than before.

Everytime we receive more news/updates that concerns Sonic Forces, I feel that Sonic Team (and Sega as a whole) are making the same mistakes that they did in the past.

It's really tiring me out.

I've been just more or less ignoring most of what's coming out about it. After seeing the modern Sonic footage looking too much for my tastes to be like Sonic & the Black Knight, I lost interest. I'll come across something here and there about it but I just move on.

You don't need to care this much if it's nothing you want. If you liked Sonic Mania, there will probably be another one. Forces fills a different target audience than Mania.
